ABSTRACT Diffuse axonal injury (DAI) is caused by acceleration‐deceleration forces during trauma that shear white matter tracts. Susceptibility‐weighted MRI (SWI) identifies microbleeds that are considered the radiologic hallmark of DAI and are used in clinical prognostication.

ABSTRACT Adrenoleukodystrophy is a rare inherited peroxisomal disease caused by pathogenic variants in the ABCD1 gene located on the X chromosome. Although the most severe central nervous system and adrenal complications typically affect only men with adrenoleukodystrophy, the majority of women develop myeloneuropathy symptoms in adulthood.

Quantitative analysis of biofilm EPS uronic acid content

The uronic acids assay was evaluated for its ability to measure the amount of uronic acids contained within a biofilm exopolysaccharide matrix. Cytophaga lytica, a marine bacterium isolated from a naturally occurring biofilm, was used to form single-species biofilms for the method assessment.
