The Menzerath–Altmann law: Experimenting with Tatar texts

open access: yesУченые записки Казанского университета: Серия Гуманитарные науки, 2021
The Menzerath–Altmann law on the relationship between the length of linguistic units and the length of their components is one of the important laws of quantitative linguistics.

A Wireless, Battery‐Free Artificial Throat Patch with Deep Learning for Emotional Speech Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, Xu and co‐workers develop a wireless, battery‐free artificial throat patch system (ATPS) consisting of a carbon nanotube‐based thin‐film strain sensor and a miniaturized flexible printed circuit board, to enable real‐time sensing of throat signals.

« ça suffit comme ça ! ». La fausse opposition quantitatif / qualitatif à l’épreuve du discours sarkozyste

open access: yesCorela, 2014
Logometry's intent is to take the full measure of discourse through the coordination of quantitative and qualitative explorations into explicit interpretative pathways. Herein, we illustrate the theoretical paradigm of the method through the step-by-step

Mechanical Overloading‐Induced Nanomineral Crystal Perturbation from the Osteochondral Interface: A Potential Initiator of Osteoarthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

Macrophage TRIM21 Inhibition Ameliorates Murine Acute Pancreatitis via PHB2‐Mediated Mitochondrial Stabilization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Macrophage‐derived TRIM21 drives the progression of AP via ubiquitin‐proteasome‐mediated degradation of PHB2, leading to impaired PHB2‐mediated mitophagy. Therefore, accumulation of cytosolic mtDNA hyperactivates the cGAS‐STING signaling axis, thereby amplifying inflammatory cascades.

Targeted Degradation of eEF2K by a Structure‐Guided PROTAC Strategy for the Treatment of Triple‐Negative Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study developed an eEF2K‐targeting PROTAC, A6, that efficiently degrades eEF2K in TNBC cells, inhibiting tumor growth in vitro and in vivo. To enhance tumor‐specific delivery, we engineered A6@ZIF‐8, a pH‐sensitive nanocarrier, which improved drug accumulation at tumor sites, offering a promising therapeutic strategy for TNBC through targeted ...

Compensatory Interplay Between Clarin‐1 and Clarin‐2 Deafness‐Associated Proteins Governs Phenotypic Variability in Hearing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Functional compensation between clarin‐1 and clarin‐2 in cochlear hair cells. Hearing loss associated with CLRN1 mutations shows striking phenotypic variability; however, the underlying mechanisms remain poorly understood. This study reveals that clarin‐1 and clarin‐2 function cooperatively in cochlear hair cells to sustain mechanoelectrical ...

The Role of Actual and Purported Origin in e‐Commerce Wine Pricing: Evidence From Italian and French Names on Labels

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The origin of a product, if associated with good quality, can contribute to building a positive collective reputation, leading to a potential price premium. However, it is conceivable that a producer markets a product by evoking symbols, images, words, and values typical of places other than where it was designed or produced, creating a ...

Quantitative Measurement of Hakka Phonetic Distances

open access: yesLanguages
This study proposes a novel approach to measuring phonetic distances among six Hailu Hakka vowels ([i, e, ɨ, a, u, o]) by applying Euclidean distance-based calculations from both articulatory and acoustic perspectives.

Structural-Probabilistic Model for Mongolian Grammar and Measurement of Frequency Use of Generalized Grammatical Units

open access: yesOriental Studies, 2020
Syntactic molecule (SM) is the minimum functional and syntactically autonomous unit able to serve as an answer to the question. Goals. The paper formulates the principles of identification of the SM. Results. The main features of grammatical tagging in
