Quantitative morphology of compensatory lung growth

open access: yesEuropean Respiratory Review, 2006
Compensatory lung growth is defined by the absolute increases in the quantity of functioning lung tissue in response to injury and/or disease, leading to a positive impact on functional outcome. The pneumonectomy model is used as an example to illustrate

Loss of AMBRA1 activates MAPK and angiogenesis signaling pathways in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Loss of AMBRA1 in melanoma cells activates multiple oncogenic pathways associated with tumor progression. Transcriptomic and protein network analyses revealed that AMBRA1 depletion enhances MAPK/ERK signaling, angiogenesis, TGF‐β/EMT signaling, and Wnt/axon guidance pathways.

morphology

open access: yes, 2012
This file contains the male genitalic morphology measurements. The file includes fields for species, population (Pop), individual id (Ind), whether the left or right side of the genitalia was measured (Meas), and for each of the nine measurments.

Quantitative Transmission Electron Microscopy Analysis of Amyloid Fibril Morphology

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics
Amyloid fibrils are increasingly regarded as versatile protein-based nanomaterials whose functional properties depend not only on their molecular cross-β architecture but also on their supramolecular morphology.

Malformin A1–mediated cytotoxicity in ovarian cancer cells occurs through pyroptosis and autophagy

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study investigated the effects of the natural compound Malformin A1 (MA1) on the cytoskeleton that regulates cell proliferation and migration. Disruption of the cytoskeleton can impair these processes and promote cancer cell death. MA1 disrupted cytoskeletal organization, induced DNA damage, inflammation, activated autophagy, and pyroptosis ...

Ionomycin suppresses cancer cell growth by disrupting mitochondrial transcription

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
In this study, we identify a new function for the selective Ca2+ ionophore, ionomycin, as an inhibitor of mitochondrial transcription. Both total and nascent RNA analyses revealed that ionomycin treatment reduces the transcription of mitochondrial genes.

KDAC6 alters cell morphology and motility through positive and negative modulation of F‐actin distribution

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
KDAC6 has been associated with cell motility and actin structures, but specific domain contributions are not established. The two catalytic domains have differential effects on motility and F‐actin regulation, affecting cortical F‐actin density, motility, stress fibers, and cell spreading.

Towards a socio-ecological spatial morphology : integrating elements of urban morphology and landscape ecology

open access: yes, 2019
The recent shift towards greater emphasis on biodiversity and urban ecosystems has increased the need for greater understanding of the green areas in cities as ecological environments.
