Protected Chaos in a Topological Lattice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Topological and chaotic dynamics are often considered incompatible, with one expected to dominate or disrupt the other. This work reveals that topological localization can persist even under strong chaotic dynamics and, counter‐intuitively, protect chaotic behavior.

Variational Bayesian Inference-Based Multiple Target Localization in WSNs With Quantized Received Signal Strength

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
The received signal strength (RSS)-based target localization is an important field of research with numerous applications in wireless sensor networks. By exploiting the sparsity of localization, the compressive sensing (CS) can be applied to develop an ...

Memristive In‐Memory Object Detection with 128 Mb C‐Doped Ge2Sb2Te5 PCM Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A memristive in‐memory object detection system is presented for edge computing based on a 128 Mb phase change memory chip (40 nm, 99.99999 % yield) enabling in‐memory vector‐matrix multiplication and max computation. A novel mixed‐precision weight mapping reduces analog‐to‐digital‐converter energy by 22.3×.

Polarization Decoupling Multi‐Port Beam‐Splitting Metasurface for Miniaturized Magneto‐Optical Trap

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A meta‐device‐based six‐beam delivery system is proposed for miniaturized MOT, featuring a novel polarization decoupling multi‐port beam‐splitting (PD‐MPBS) metasurface using propagation and geometric phases. The fabricated PD‐MPBS samples exhibit high beam‐splitting power uniformity (within 4.4%) and polarization purities (91.3–93.2%).

Calculation of an entropy-constrained quantizer for exponentially damped sinudoids parameters

open access: yes, 2010
Technical report, 5 pagesThe Exponentially Damped Sinusoids (EDS) model can efficiently represent real-world audio signals. In the context of low bit rate parametric audio coding, the EDS model could bring a significant improvement over classical ...

Realization of Spin‐locked Acoustic Helical Landau Levels in both Hexagonal and Square Lattices

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Acoustic helical Landau levels rooted in quantum spin Hall systems are achieved by linearly increasing the local bandgap through the lifting of the double Dirac cone in acoustic crystals. Large‐area conveyance of acoustic energy facilitated by these helical Landau levels is demonstrated.

An Ultrathin Optoelectronic Memristor with Dual‐Functional Photodetector and Optical Synapse Behaviors for Neuromorphic Vision

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
An optoelectronic memristor based on an ultrathin periodic heterostructure is proposed. The unique structure enables the integration of multiple functionalities, including those of a photodetector, electric synapse, and optical synapse. This work provides a framework to design ultrathin, multifunctional, and energy‐efficient neuromorphic chips for ...

Quantum Transport in SnTe Nanowire Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A variety of quantum transport experiments are observed in SnTe nanowire devices and attributed to microscopic differences in the fabrication. Three categories can be distinguished: semiconducting behavior, partial superconductivity and Fabry‐Pérot oscillations.

Topological Skyrmion‐Based Spin‐Torque‐Diode Effect in Magnetic Tunnel Junctions

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Electrical excitation and detection of a breathing skyrmion in a nanoscale skyrmion‐based spin‐torque diode at room temperature is achieved. Skyrmions are generated via spin‐transfer torque current induction, and their breathing dynamics are observed through ferromagnetic resonance (FMR) measurements.
