An Intelligent Piezoelectric System Integrating Self‐Sensing and Autonomous Operation for Adaptive Vibration Control

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, EarlyView.
An intelligent piezoelectric vibration control system integrating self‐sensing, autonomous operation, and adaptive bias‐flip synchronized switching damping (SSD) is developed. The system detects vibration extrema, executes synchronized switching control, and autonomously establishes the bias voltage without external sensing instruments, achieving ...

Gait Data Synthesis for Smartphone User Authentication

open access: yesComputational Intelligence, Volume 42, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Gait, the distinctive and natural pattern of an individual's walking behavior, has emerged as an effective biometric for user authentication. Its ability to operate without active user involvement, along with its resistance to replication, makes it particularly well‐suited for continuous smartphone authentication.

Soft Active Electromyography Interface for Machine Learning‐Enabled Silent Speech Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
A soft, hand‐worn electromyography interface enables intent‐driven silent speech recognition without continuous facial attachment. The device integrates liquid‐metal interconnects, a transparent flexible circuit, and elastomer encapsulation with a fingertip electrode that contacts perioral muscles only on demand.

Asymmetric Whisker‐Inspired Sensor Pairs for Enhanced Airflow Sensing on Drones

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
This work incorporates asymmetric cross‐sections into a whisker‐inspired sensor pair to enhance airflow sensing. By comparing signals between two offset asymmetric whiskers, the system improves flow heading estimation and identifies the presence of fan‐generated wind during quadrotor flight.

Biophysical structure and particle dynamics of an algal bloom within a mesoscale eddy

open access: yesLimnology and Oceanography, Volume 71, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract Mesoscale eddies create dynamically distinct environments where thermohaline fronts partition the biological and optical structure of the upper water column. How these fronts organize the vertical and lateral structure of spring blooms is a longstanding observational challenge, largely because the bloom environment evolves rapidly across ...

Toward an Improved Understanding of the Antarctic Coastal Zone and Its Contribution to Future Global Sea Level

open access: yesReviews of Geophysics, Volume 64, Issue 3, September 2026.
Abstract Understanding the coastal zone of the Antarctic Ice Sheet (AIS), where it interacts with the Southern Ocean and warmer air masses, is crucial for predicting Antarctica's influence on the global climate and sea level. This region has multiple tipping mechanisms that could trigger large, rapid, and potentially irreversible changes in the AIS ...
