Comparison and optimization of hybridization algorithms for onboard classical and quantum accelerometers

open access: yesAVS Quantum Science
We study two hybridization algorithms that are used for combining a quantum inertial sensor based on atom interferometry with a classical inertial sensor for onboard acceleration measurements. The first is based on the direct extraction of the interferometer phase and has previously been used in seaborne and airborne gravity-measurement campaigns.

Field‐Programable Dynamics in a Soft Magnetic Actuator Enabling True Random Number Generation and Reservoir Computing

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 8, August 2026.
Complex dynamics, often avoided in electromechanical design, can enhance soft robotics. We develop durable magnetic soft actuators operating in tunable dynamic regimes, enabling random number generation, stochastic computing, and time‐series prediction.

Self‐Powered Flexible Triboelectric‐Gated Ion‐Gel Transistor for Neuromorphic Tactile Sensing and Human Activity Recognition

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 37, 2 July 2026.
A fully flexible ion‐gel‐gated graphene‐channel transistor driven by a triboelectric nanogenerator enables self‐powered tactile sensing and synaptic learning. Mimicking spike‐rate‐dependent plasticity, the device exhibits frequency‐selective potentiation and depression, supporting rate‐coded neuromorphic computation even under flex.

Physical Activity and Adiposity Markers at Older Ages: Accelerometer Vs Questionnaire Data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Physical activity is critically important for successful aging, but its effect on adiposity markers at older ages is unclear as much of the evidence comes from self-reported data on physical activity.

Transducers Across Scales and Frequencies: A System‐Level Framework for Multiphysics Integration and Co‐Design

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 13, 8 July 2026.
Transducers convert physical signals into electrical and optical representations, yet each mechanism is bounded by intrinsic trade‐offs across bandwidth, sensitivity, speed, and energy. This review maps transduction mechanisms across physical scale and frequency, showing how heterogeneous integration and multiphysics co‐design transform isolated ...
