Numerical and geometrical aspects of flow-based variational quantum Monte Carlo
This article aims to summarize recent and ongoing efforts to simulate continuous-variable quantum systems using flow-based variational quantum Monte Carlo techniques, focusing for pedagogical purposes on the example of bosons in the field amplitude ...

Quantum Amplitude Amplification and Estimation
Consider a Boolean function $χ: X \to \{0,1\}$ that partitions set $X$ between its good and bad elements, where $x$ is good if $χ(x)=1$ and bad otherwise. Consider also a quantum algorithm $\mathcal A$ such that $A |0\rangle= \sum_{x\in X} α_x |x\rangle$ is a quantum superposition of the elements of $X$, and let $a$ denote the probability that a good ...

Error Resilient Quantum Amplitude Estimation from Parallel Quantum Phase Estimation
We show how phase and amplitude estimation algorithms can be parallelized. This can reduce the gate depth of the quantum circuits to that of a single Grover operator with a small overhead. Further, we show that for quantum amplitude estimation, the parallelization can lead to vast improvements in resilience against quantum errors. The resilience is not

Minimizing Estimation Runtime on Noisy Quantum Computers
The number of measurements demanded by hybrid quantum-classical algorithms such as the variational quantum eigensolver (VQE) is prohibitively high for many problems of practical value.

The Prospect of Quantum Amplitude Estimation Based on the Development of the Quantum Volume
Quantum amplitude estimation is a numerical integration technique and a candidate for the first operationally used quantum algorithm providing a quantum advantage in the NISQ era. Its main metric is the generated Fisher information per second, as it describes the accuracy of the numerical integration.

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

Quantum-enhanced mean value estimation via adaptive measurement [PDF]
Quantum-enhanced (i.e., higher performance by quantum effects than any classical methods) mean value estimation of observables is a fundamental task in various quantum technologies; in particular, it is an essential subroutine in quantum computing ...

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.
