High-Frequency Modulation Spectroscopy with a THz Quantum-Cascade Laser
A terahertz absorption spectrometer with a quantum-cascade laser (QCL) for high-resolution molecular spectroscopy is realized. The spectrometer is based on highfrequency (up to 50 MHz) modulation of the QCL frequency.

Quantum Cascade Lasers (QCLs) represent a significant advancement in laser technology, enabling a broad range of applications due to their unique operational principles. Unlike traditional semiconductor lasers that rely on inter-band transitions, QCLs use intersubband transitions within quantum wells, allowing for emission in the mid-infrared and ...

Superlattice Structure of Quantum Cascade Lasers: Structural and Morphological Effects of AsH₃ Flow
The quantum cascade lasers (QCLs) have been widely used in mid-infrared applications due to their high power, efficiency, and design flexibility. The InP-based quantum cascade lasers, particularly those utilizing In 0.53 Ga 0.47 As/In0.52Al0.48As ...

Gain and loss in quantum cascade lasers [PDF]
We report gain calculations for a quantum cascade laser using a fully self-consistent quantum mechanical approach based on the theory of nonequilibrium Green functions. Both the absolute value of the gain as well as the spectral position at threshold are in excellent agreement with experimental findings for T=77 K.

Plasmonic quantum cascade laser antenna [PDF]
We demonstrate the plasmonic quantum cascade laser antenna, that can confine mid- infrared radiation beyond the diffraction limit, by integrating gold optical antennas on the laser facet.

DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.
