The citric acid/urea (CA‐Urea) precursor system offers a versatile, scalable route to carbon dots with tunable luminescence and multifunctionality. Mechanistic insights into precursor chemistry and reaction parameters have enabled doping, surface modification, and hybridization strategies, yielding CDs for luminescent devices, sensing, catalysis ...

Self‐assembled monolayers (SAMs) are promising hole‐transporting materials for organic photovoltaics (OPVs), but suffer from self‐aggregation and poor large‐area uniformity. We find that interfacial modification using nicotinic hydrazide can eliminate the residual SAM aggregates by forming energetically favorable complexes, yielding uniform SAM.

Multiplex Modular Nanorobotic Systems with Catalytic Activity under Magnetic Navigation
We present modular nanorobots composed of a magnetic propulsion module and different extension modules carrying functional activities, assembled via DNA base pairing. The system integrates propulsion, optical tracking, enzymatic catalysis, and cell docking in a programmable manner.

Anti-correlation phenomena in quantum cascade laser frequency combs
In quantum cascade laser frequency combs, the intensity distribution of the optical spectrum can be split into two well-separated lobes of longitudinal modes that, even when far apart, have a common phase relation and preserve equal frequency separation.

Coherent instabilities in a semiconductor laser with fast gain recovery [PDF]
We report the observation of a coherent multimode instability in quantum cascade lasers (QCLs), which is driven by the same fundamental mechanism of Rabi oscillations as the elusive Risken-Nummedal-Graham-Haken (RNGH) instability predicted 40 years ago ...

Atomic Layer Deposition in Transistors and Monolithic 3D Integration
Transistors are fundamental building blocks of modern electronics. This review summarizes recent progress in atomic layer deposition (ALD) for the synthesis of two‐dimensional (2D) metal oxides and transition‐metal dichalcogenides (TMDCs), with particular emphasis on their enabling role in monolithic three‐dimensional (M3D) integration for next ...

Universal Quasi-Level Parameter for the Characterization of Laser Operation
A parameter is proposed which classifies the laser operating characteristics according to the quasi-level terminology, i.e., as intermediate behavior between that of an ideal two- and three-level or three- and four-level laser scheme.

Self-consistent scattering model of carrier dynamics in GaAs-AlGaAs terahertz quantum-cascade lasers [PDF]
Intersubband electron scattering transport in terahertz GaAs–AlGaAs quantum cascade lasers is analyzed, using a full 13-level self-consistent rate equation model.

Overdoping high temperature superconductors, such as YBa2Cu3O7‐δ (YBCO), is expected to maxime the critical current density by optimising the condensation energy for a given defect landscape, providing new thrust for the development of fusion enabling coated conductors. Here, precise oxygen control is achieved via an electrochemical method allowing for

Quantum cascade photonic crystal surface emitting injection laser [PDF]
A surface emitting quantum cascade injection laser is presented. Direct surface emission is obtained by using a 2D photonic-band-gap structure that simultaneously acts as a microcavity.
