SUPERSYMMETRIC QUANTUM COSMOLOGY
International Journal of Modern Physics A, 1993Supersymmetric minisuperspace quantization is studied for cosmological models without interaction (Bianchi type I) and for models with interaction like Bianchi type IX, the Taub and the FRW (k=+1) model. In particular for the last two cases the profound differences with standard quantum cosmology are emphasized.

This paper considers the extension of the ideas of quantum cosmology and, in particular, the proposal of Hartle and Hawking for the boundary conditions of the Universe, to models which incorporate fermions in a realistic manner. We consider inhomogeneous fermionic perturbations about a homogeneous, isotropic minisuperspace background model, by ...

Quantum cosmology and recollapse
Physical Review D, 1987The wave function of the Universe defined by the Hartle-Hawking proposal is studied for two minisuperspace models, the Friedmann-Robertson-Walker universe with a massive scalar field and the anisotropic Kantowski-Sachs cosmology. Solutions of the Wheeler-DeWitt equation are evaluated numerically.

Decoherence in quantum cosmology
Physical Review D, 1989We discuss the manner in which the gravitational field becomes classical in quantum cosmology. This involves two steps. First, one must show that the quantum state of the gravitational field becomes strongly peaked about a set of classical configurations.

Quantum cosmology with electromagnetism
Physical Review D, 1988We investigate the semiclassical quantum cosmology of the spatially homogeneous k = +1 Friedmann-Robertson-Walker minisuperspace model with the electromagnetic field included as a small perturbation on the gravitational background. The wave function is chosen adopting the Hartle-Hawking proposal. Owing to conformal invariance, the electromagnetic field

Abstract This chapter presents the application of quantum gravity to the Universe as a whole. The concept of minisuperspace is introduced and discussed. Various solutions of the Wheeler-DeWitt equation are found and discussed. Structure formation is discussed as well as boundary conditions and singularity avoidance.
