Quantum tunneling in a dissipative system

Physical Review A, 1996
Applying a technique developed recently [L. H. Yu and C. P. Sun, Phys. Rev. A {bold 49}, 592 (1994); L. H. Yu, Phys. Lett. {bold 202}, 167 (1995)] for a harmonic oscillator coupled to a bath of harmonic oscillators, we present an exact solution for the tunneling problem in an Ohmic dissipative system with inverted harmonic potential.

Classical fluctuations in dissipative quantum systems

Physical Review D, 1986
Dissipative quantum systems such as an unstable field, thermal field, and cosmological particle production are investigated. Equations of motion for each appropriate mean field are revealed to be Langevin type. The derived correlation of the random field turns out not to be Gaussian nor white in general. A relation between a popular quantum average and

QUANTUM FIELD THEORY OF A DISSIPATIVE SYSTEM

Modern Physics Letters A, 1995
Quantum dissipative scalar and fermionic fields are studied here from classical stochastic fields. These classical stochastic fields are the outcome of the relativistic generalization of Nelson's stochastic mechanics based on a new microlocal geometry.

Finite Dissipative Quantum Systems

2002
The subject of these notes is friction in classical and quantum mechanics. Its mathematical description in terms of Markovian semigroups is reviewed, with special emphasis on the notions of complete positivity and normality for the quantum evolutions. Damping is then used to stabilise the motion of a kicked oscillator.

Chebyshev Expansion Applied to Dissipative Quantum Systems

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2016
To determine the dynamics of a molecular aggregate under the influence of a strongly time-dependent perturbation within a dissipative environment is still, in general, a challenge. The time-dependent perturbation might be, for example, due to external fields or explicitly treated fluctuations within the environment. Methods to calculate the dynamics in

Quantum coherence in dissipative systems

Physica B+C, 1984
Abstract This paper reviews the considerable progress that has been made in the last two years in understanding some novel quantum mechanical coherence effects in superconducting interference devices. Some general aspects of quantum coherence in the presence of dissipation is also discussed.
