I discuss the general principles underlying quantum field theory, and attempt to identify its most profound consequences. The deepest of these consequences result from the infinite number of degrees of freedom invoked to implement locality.

Braided Quantum Field Theory [PDF]
We develop a general framework for quantum field theory on noncommutative spaces, i.e., spaces with quantum group symmetry. We use the path integral approach to obtain expressions for $n$-point functions.

Perturbative Quantum Field Theory [PDF]
This talk introduces perturbative quantum field on a heuristic level. It is directed at an audience familiar with elements of quantum mechanics, but not necessarily with high energy physics.

From euclidean field theory to quantum field theory [PDF]
In order to construct examples for interacting quantum field theory models, the methods of euclidean field theory turned out to be powerful tools since they make use of the techniques of classical statistical mechanics. Starting from an appropriate set

Relative Quantum Field Theory [PDF]
We highlight the general notion of a relative quantum field theory, which occurs in several contexts. One is in gauge theory based on a compact Lie algebra, rather than a compact Lie group. This is relevant to the maximal superconformal theory in six dimensions.

The scope of this review is to give a pedagogical introduction to some new calculations and methods developed by the author in the context of quantum groups and their applications. The review is self-contained and serves as a "first aid kit" before one ventures into the beautiful but bewildering landscape of Woronowicz's theory.

Quantum scars in quantum field theory
We develop the theory of quantum scars for quantum fields. By generalizing the formalisms of Heller and Bogomolny from few-body quantum mechanics to quantum fields, we find that unstable periodic classical solutions of the field equations imprint themselves in a precise manner on bands of energy eigenfunctions.
