NuQKD: A Modular Quantum Key Distribution Simulation Framework for Engineering Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Physics Research
An experimental Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) implementation requires advanced costly hardware, unavailable in most research environments, making protocol testing and performance evaluation complicated.

Practical issues of twin-field quantum key distribution

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2019
Twin-field quantum key distribution(TF-QKD) protocol and its variants, such as phase-matching QKD, sending-or-not-sending QKD and no phase post-selection TF-QKD(NPP-TFQKD), are very promising for long-distance applications.

Progress in satellite quantum key distribution

open access: yes, 2017
Quantum key distribution (QKD) is a family of protocols for growing a private encryption key between two parties. Despite much progress, all ground-based QKD approaches have a distance limit due to atmospheric losses or in-fibre attenuation.

Biodegradable and Recyclable Luminescent Mixed‐Matrix‐Membranes, Hydrogels, and Cryogels based on Nanoscale Metal‐Organic Frameworks and Biopolymers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The study presents biodegradable and recyclable mixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs), hydrogels, and cryogels using luminescent nanoscale metal‐organic frameworks (nMOFs) and biopolymers. These bio‐nMOF‐MMMs combine europium‐based nMOFs as probes for the status of the materials with the biopolymers agar and gelatine and present alternatives to conventional ...

Experimental realization of stimulated Raman shortcut-to-adiabatic passage with cold atoms

open access: yesNature Communications, 2016
Stimulated Raman adiabatic passage is a robust approach to realize high-fidelity state transfer, but requires long operation. Here, the authors propose a shortcut-to-adiabatic protocol to speed up such approach by modifying the Raman pulses, and ...

Quantum Key Distribution

open access: yes, 2023
AbstractA new class of computers, so-called quantum computers, will soon be able to crack common encryption algorithms. Quantum key distribution is a promising solution to stay secure in the age of the quantum computer, which is progressively getting industrialized in recent years.

Modulating Two‐Photon Absorption in a Pyrene‐Based MOF Series: An In‐Depth Investigation of Structure–Property Relationships

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates H4TBAPy‐based metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) ‐ NU‐1000, NU‐901, SrTBAPy, and BaTBAPy ‐ for multiphoton absorption (MPA) performance. It observes topology‐dependent variations in the 2PA cross‐section, with BaTBAPy exhibiting the highest activity.

Assessing the performance of quantum repeaters for all phase-insensitive Gaussian bosonic channels

open access: yesNew Journal of Physics, 2016
One of the most sought-after goals in experimental quantum communication is the implementation of a quantum repeater. The performance of quantum repeaters can be assessed by comparing the attained rate with the quantum and private capacity of direct ...

Near‐Infrared Emitting Lanthanide Catecholate Giant Single Crystals – Morphology Control and Photon Down‐Conversion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Controlled syntheses of lanthanide coordination polymers based on the dihydroxybenzoquinone (DHBQ) organic linker afforded large single crystals of Ln‐DHBQ CPs (Ln = Yb, Nd). A novel structural variant of Yb‐DHBQ is identified by means of single crystal diffraction analysis.
