Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Carbon-Based Quantum Dots for Electrochemical Detection of Monoamine Neurotransmitters—Review
Imbalance in the levels of monoamine neurotransmitters have manifested in severe health issues. Electrochemical sensors have been designed for their determination, with good sensitivity recorded.

Giant-Cavity-Based Quantum Sensors With Enhanced Performance
Recent progress has revealed that quantum systems with multiple position-dependent couplings, e.g., giant atoms, can exhibit some unconventional phenomena, such as non-exponential decay. However, their potential applications are still open questions.

Effect of terahertz irradiation on DNA damage repair in living cells
We investigated the effect of terahertz (THz) wave irradiation on DNA double‐strand break (DSB) repair in living cells. We found that THz irradiation enhanced DSB repair at specific frequencies, whereas heat treatment inhibited it, indicating that this effect is nonthermal and frequency‐specific.

Chemo-Resistive Gas Sensors Based on PbS Colloidal Quantum Dots
In this paper, we investigate the sensitivity and selectivity of lead sulphide colloidal quantum dots (CQDs) gas sensor. The benefits of CQDs, compared to commercial bulk sensor gas, are a large surface/volume ratio, a lower operating temperature, an ...

In silico and in vitro exploration of a tyrosinase for biocatalytic production of catechols
Tyrosinase from Ralstonia pseudosolanacearum is a promising biocatalyst for producing valuable catechols from monophenol substrates. This tyrosinase is uniquely suited to this due to its high monophenolase : diphenolase ratio. We combined in silico docking and in vivo kinetic characterisation of this tyrosinase with 11 industrially relevant monophenols,

Quantum-Based Relative Inertial Navigation with Velocity-Aided Alignment and Initialization
Quantum sensors are expected to offer significant advantages in magnetic- and gravity-aided navigation. However, these techniques depend on the local environmental conditions and require an alternative solution to ensure high position accuracy on shorter

Adenosine triphosphate as a modulator of protein interactions and stability
ATP is best known as the cell's energy currency, but it also shapes how proteins fold, interact, aggregate and form biomolecular condensates. This review explains the emerging physical principles behind these effects, including weak binding to charged protein regions, magnesium‐dependent behaviour and concentration‐dependent control of protein ...
