Quantum tomography of light states by photon-number-resolving detectors
We address state reconstruction by photon-number-resolving detectors, and demonstrate that they may be effectively exploited to perform quantum tomography of states of light.

Topological features without a lattice in Rashba spin-orbit coupled atoms
Here, the authors study topology in spin-orbit coupled 87Rb atoms by using time domain spectroscopy and quantum state tomography. They measure full quantum state to extract the Berry phase of the system and show signatures of a half-integer Chern index.

Describing a Quantum Channel by State Tomography of a Single Probe State
A general law is presented for (composite) quantum systems which directly describes the time evolution of quantum states (with one or both components) through an arbitrary noisy quantum channel.

The layer‐by‐layer (LbL) assembly of coordination solids, enabled by the surface‐mounted metal‐organic framework (SURMOF) platform, is on the cusp of generating the organic counterpart of the epitaxy of inorganics. The programmable and sequential SURMOF protocol, optimized by machine learning (ML), is suited for accessing high‐quality thin films of ...

Adaptive Quantum State Tomography Improves Accuracy Quadratically [PDF]
We introduce a simple protocol for adaptive quantum state tomography, which reduces the worst-case infidelity between the estimate and the true state from $O(N^{-1/2})$ to $O(N^{-1})$. It uses a single adaptation step and just one extra measurement setting.

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Diluted maximum-likelihood algorithm for quantum tomography
We propose a refined iterative likelihood-maximization algorithm for reconstructing a quantum state from a set of tomographic measurements. The algorithm is characterized by a very high convergence rate and features a simple adaptive procedure that ...

The study presents biodegradable and recyclable mixed‐matrix membranes (MMMs), hydrogels, and cryogels using luminescent nanoscale metal‐organic frameworks (nMOFs) and biopolymers. These bio‐nMOF‐MMMs combine europium‐based nMOFs as probes for the status of the materials with the biopolymers agar and gelatine and present alternatives to conventional ...
