Confidence Polytopes in Quantum State Tomography
Quantum State Tomography is the task of inferring the state of a quantum system from measurement data. A reliable tomography scheme should not only report an estimate for that state, but also well-justified error bars. These may be specified in terms of confidence regions, i.e., subsets of the state space which contain the system's state with high ...

A previously unreported coordination motif stabilising single Fe atoms by indigo chelation and pyridyl coordination on Au(111) has been revealed. By using planar tritopic pyridyl linkers (TPyB), extended 2D porous networks of indigo3(TPyB)2Fe6 form. These networks can be crystalline or vitreous and offer an environment where individual coordination ...

Maximum-likelihood coherent-state quantum process tomography
Coherent-state quantum process tomography (csQPT) is a method for completely characterizing a quantum-optical ‘black box’ by probing it with coherent states and carrying out homodyne measurements on the output (Lobino et al 2008 Science 322 563).

MOFs and COFs in Electronics: Bridging the Gap between Intrinsic Properties and Measured Performance
Metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise for advanced electronics. However, discrepancies in reported electrical conductivities highlight the importance of measurement methodologies. This review explores intrinsic charge transport mechanisms and extrinsic factors influencing performance, and critically ...

Experimental generation of pseudo bound entanglement
We use Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) to experimentally generate a bound entangled (more precisely: pseudo bound entangled) state, i.e. a quantum state which is non-distillable but nevertheless entangled. Our quantum system consists of three qubits. We

DNA strands are employed both as dynamic linkers and nanoscale templates for the integration of Ag2S nanoparticles on MoS2, which in turn imparted photothermal responsiveness; this feature permits the selective cargo (fluorophore, quantum dots or an enzyme) release from the MoS2 surface in response to local heat induced by light irradiation.
