Ultrasmall High‐Entropy Materials: Nanoscale Effects, Synthesis, and Mechanistic Insights

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This review article focuses on sub‐10 nm high‐entropy materials that combine nanoscale design with complex compositions for next‐generation applications. ABSTRACT Ultrasmall high‐entropy nanomaterials (USHENMs, <10 nm) merge multicomponent chemistry with size‐dependent effects, forming a distinct class of materials with unprecedented properties.

Bell Correlations in Quantum Field Theory [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Bell correlations are the hallmark of quantum non-locality, and a rich context for analysing them is provided by the algebraic approach to quantum field theory (AQFT): the basic idea is to associate with each bounded region O of Minkowski spacetime an ...

Effective metric description of 2+1 dimensional quantum black holes

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields
We develop an effective metric description of 2+1 dimensional black holes describing deviations from the classical Ban̈ados–Teitelboim–Zanelli (BTZ) black hole.

A Dual‐Functional Electrolyte Additive for Highly Reversible Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) as a dual‐function additive for aqueous zinc‐ion batteries. TBAB disrupts the hydrogen‐bond network of water while TBA+ adsorbs on Zn to improve interfacial wettability and regulate Zn2+ flux, resulting in suppressed dendrite growth and parasitic reactions. This synergy extended the lifespan of Zn|

Epistemic and Ontic Quantum Realities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Quantum theory has provoked intense discussions about its interpretation since its pioneer days. One of the few scientists who have been continuously engaged in this development from both physical and philosophical perspectives is Carl Friedrich von ...

Phase Evolution Kinetics in Additive‐Free 19.75% Organic Photovoltaics Empowered by Solvent Vapor Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solvent vapor annealing enables kinetic control of additive‐free morphology in organic solar cells. Selective plasticization of acceptor forms an optimal fibrillar network, boosting efficiency to 19.06% (binary) and 19.75% (ternary), with ultrafast exciton dissociation and reduced recombination.

Explaining the Unobserved: Why Quantum Mechanics Is Not only About Information [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A remarkable theorem by Clifton, Bub and Halverson (2003) (CBH) characterizes quantum theory in terms of information--theoretic principles. According to Bub (2004, 2005) the philosophical significance of the theorem is that quantum theory should be ...

Quantum Game Theory

open access: yes, 2011
Quantum game theory is the study of strategic behavior by agents with access to quantum technology. Broadly speaking, this technology can be employed in either of two ways: As part of a randomization device or as part of a communications protocol. We survey some of the main ideas from both branches of the subject.
