Unifying Nucleon and Quark Dynamics at Finite Baryon Number Density [PDF]
We present a model of baryonic matter which contains free constituent quarks in addition to bound constituent quarks in nucleons. In addition to the common linear sigma-model we include the exchange of vector-mesons.

Bound States of (Anti-)Scalar-Quarks in SU(3)_c Lattice QCD [PDF]
Light scalar-quarks \phi (colored scalar particles or idealized diquarks) and their color-singlet hadronic states are studied with quenched SU(3)_c lattice QCD in terms of mass generation.

ABSTRACT Pediatric asthma is a common chronic airway inflammatory disease, where accurate assessment of disease severity and prognosis prediction is crucial for treatment decisions. Currently, there is a lack of precise and effective biomarkers.

Open heavy flavor measurements at STAR
In relativistic heavy ion collisions at RHIC, heavy quarks are expected to be created from initial hard scatterings. Since heavy quarks have large masses, long life time, and negligible annihilation due to their small population, the number of heavy ...

HARD QUARK-QUARK SCATTERING WITH EXCLUSIVE REACTIONS* [PDF]
We present data from π-p → elastic and ρ-p final states for scattering at 90° center of mass, -t = 9 GeV2/c2. A large ρ-p signal is seen and the ρ- are strongly polarized. This polarization tests a QCD prediction that quarks cannot flip helicity. The test fails dramatically.

Performance of pyDock in 8th CAPRI: Energy‐Based Scoring Applied to Docking and AlphaFold Models
ABSTRACT The 8th CAPRI edition has shown a significant evolution in the field of protein–protein complex structure prediction. We have participated in all 11 targets proposed in this edition, involving domain‐domain, protein–protein, protein‐peptide, and protein‐DNA interactions, including homo‐ and hetero‐meric interfaces.

Strange hadrons, especially multistrange hadrons, are good probes for the early partonic stage of heavy ion collisions due to their small hadronic cross sections.

A first order transition and parity violation in a color superconductor
In cold, dense quark matter, quarks of different flavor can form Cooper pairs which are anti-triplets under color and have total spin J=0. The transition to a phase where strange quarks condense with either up or down quarks is driven first order by the ...

Off-forward quark-quark correlation function [PDF]
The properties of the non-forward quark-quark correlation function are examined. We derive constraints on the correlation function from the transformation properties of the fundamental fields of QCD occurring in its definition. We further develop a method to construct an ansatz for this correlator.

Bottom-quark fragmentation in top-quark decay [PDF]
We study the fragmentation of the b quark in top decay in NLO QCD, within the framework of perturbative fragmentation, which allows one to resum large logarithms $\sim\log (m_t^2/m_b^2)$. We show the b-energy distribution, which we compare with the exact ${\cal O} ( _S)$ result for a massive b quark.
