Quantum wave simulation with sources and loss functions
We present a quantum algorithmic framework for simulating linear, anti-Hermitian (lossless) wave equations in heterogeneous, anisotropic, and time-independent media.

Calibrating Bayesian inference
Abstract Bayesian statistics has gained popularity in psychological research due to its intuitive uncertainty quantification and convenient information‐updating rules. In many applications, however, prior distributions are introduced merely as instruments to facilitate computation, rather than as representations of genuine subjective belief ...

Smooth solitary waves for the generalized gKdV-4 equation
We consider a generalization of KdV-type equations with a quartic nonlinearity u4 (gKdV-4), which includes dissipation terms similar to those appearing in the Benjamin-Bona-Mahoney equation as well as in the well-known Camassa–Holm and Degasperis-Procesi

Large D holography with metric deformations
We consider Einstein gravity in AdS in the presence of a deformed conformal boundary metric, in the limit of large spacetime dimension. At leading order we find a new set of effective near-horizon equations.

Basis Networks: Learning basis functions for free‐form triangulations
Abstract We present a framework for learning compactly supported basis functions that define tangent continuous surfaces based on coarse irregular triangle meshes. The basis functions are represented as MLPs. Smoothness of the basis functions is achieved by using the values of Loop basis functions as the parameterization of the surface.

Optimisation of a Third Order System
A general algebraic method of optimising a third order system is presented. The method consists of extending Pontryagin's Maximum Principle to the infinite interval case and reducing the characteristic two point boundary value problem to that of the ...

Survey on differential estimators for 3d point clouds
Abstract Recent advancements in 3D scanning technologies, including LiDAR and photogrammetry, have enabled the precise digital replication of real‐world objects. These methods are widely used in fields such as GIS, robotics, and cultural heritage. However, the point clouds generated by such scans are often noisy and unstructured, posing challenges for ...

Saturated properties prediction in critical region by a quartic equation of state
A diverse substance library containing extensive PVT data for 77 pure components was used to critically evaluate the performance of a quartic equation of state and other four famous cubic equations of state in critical region.

TT4D: Tensor‐Train‐based 4D Time‐Dependent Volume Rendering
Abstract Visualizing large‐scale, time‐varying volumetric data using direct volume rendering remains a significant challenge in scientific visualization, particularly as data sizes and resolutions continue to increase. One promising direction for addressing this challenge is the use of tensor decompositions, which have proven to be a useful tool for ...

Automorphisms of quartic del Pezzo surfaces in characteristic zero [PDF]
For each field $k$ of characteristic zero, we classify which groups act by automorphisms on a quartic del Pezzo surface over $k$. We also determine which groups act on $k$-rational, stably $k$-rational, or $k$-unirational quartic del Pezzo surfaces.
