On Constructing Two-Point Optimal Fourth-Order Multiple-Root Finders with a Generic Error Corrector and Illustrating Their Dynamics

open access: yesDiscrete Dynamics in Nature and Society, 2015
With an error corrector via principal branch of the mth root of a function-to-function ratio, we propose optimal quartic-order multiple-root finders for nonlinear equations.

On the solutions of a family of quartic Thue equations [PDF]

open access: yesMathematics of Computation, 1999
In this paper, we solve a certain family of diophantine equations associated with a family of cyclic quartic number fields. In fact, we prove that for n

Unveiling spatial heterogeneity in urban underground space development patterns and mechanisms for differentiated planning: A points of interest‐based study of Shanghai

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study investigated the spatial patterns and development mechanisms of urban underground space (UUS) in Shanghai using underground points of interest data. It revealed distinct development mechanisms between the main city and suburbs, highlighting the need for differentiated UUS planning and policies to optimize underground space resources ...

A General System of Functional Equations Deriving From Additive, Quadratic, Cubic, and Quartic Mappings

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics
In the current study, we introduce a system of functional equations (FEs) deriving from the mixed type additive–quadratic and the mixed-type cubic–quartic FEs which describes a multimixed additive–quadratic–cubic–quartic mapping.

Stability of Quartic Functional Equation in Modular Spaces via Hyers and Fixed-Point Methods

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
In this work, we introduce a new type of generalised quartic functional equation and obtain the general solution. We then investigate the stability results by using the Hyers method in modular space for quartic functional equations without using the ...

Alternative Data for Realised Volatility Forecasting: Limit Order Book and News Stories

open access: yesInternational Journal of Finance &Economics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We examine whether two major alternative data sources, limit order book information and firm‐specific news, provide incremental predictive information for daily realised volatility forecasting within the HAR‐family, using a parsimonious framework to ensure practical implementation and comparability. The framework is designed for practical real‐

High Efficiency NIR Luminescence Beyond 900 nm Through Promoting Cr3+ Pair Generation in Sr3Zr2O7 Layered Perovskite

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
A Cr3+/La3+ codoped Sr3Zr2O7 NIR phosphor showing luminescence at ∼960 nm with high IQE/EQE (92.4%/57.5%) and good thermal stability was developed. La3+ stabilizes Cr3+ and induces Cr3+ pairs, enabling efficient blue‐to‐NIR conversion for underwater wireless optical communication.

Pseudo-differential equations, and the Bethe ansatz for the classical Lie algebras [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The correspondence between ordinary differential equations and Bethe ansatz equations for integrable lattice models in their continuum limits is generalised to vertex models related to classical simple Lie algebras.

On the Superstrings-Induced Four-Dimensional Gravity and Its Applications to Cosmology

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, 2008
We review the status of the fourth-order (quartic in the spacetime curvature) terms induced by superstrings/M-theory (compactified on a warped torus) in the leading order with respect to the Regge slope parameter, and study their (nonperturbative) impact

WKB solutions of the Schrödinger equation with a quartic potential

open access: yesAIP Advances, 2023
The Schrödinger equation with a quartic potential is a fundamental equation describing the physics of stimulated side scattering, but no exact, even approximate solution has been formulated yet.
