A multiscale approach to liquid crystal nematics via statistical field theory
We propose an approach to a multiscale problem in the theory of thermotropic uniaxial nematics based on the method of statistical field theory. This approach enables us to relate the coefficients $A$, $B$, $C$, $L_1$ and $L_2$ of the Landau-de Gennes ...

On Direct Fuzzy Stability of General Quartic Functional Equation
The goal of this paper is to investigate the Generalized Hyers - Ulam - Rassias (HUR) stability of generalquartic functional equation (GQFE) fq(kr1 + (k -1)r2) + fq(kr1 - (k -1)r2) = 2k4fq(r1) + 2(k -1)4fq(r2) +6k2(k -1)2[fq(r1 + r2) + fq(r1 - r2)] - 12k2(k ...

A Note on Local Polynomial Regression for Time Series in Banach Spaces
ABSTRACT This work extends local polynomial regression to Banach space‐valued time series for estimating smoothly varying means and their derivatives in non‐stationary data. The asymptotic properties of both the standard and bias‐reduced Jackknife estimators are analyzed under mild moment conditions, establishing their convergence rates.

Calabi-Yau Threefolds Fibred by Mirror Quartic K3 Surfaces
We study threefolds fibred by mirror quartic K3 surfaces. We begin by showing that any family of such K3 surfaces is completely determined by a map from the base of the family to the moduli space of mirror quartic K3 surfaces. This is then used to give a

A GENERALIZED ADDITIVE-QUARTIC FUNCTIONAL EQUATION AND ITS STABILITY
An(x1, x2, . . . , xn) = An(xπ(1), xπ(2), . . . , xπ(n)) for every permutation {π(1), π(2), . . . , π(n)} of {1, 2, . . . , n} where n is a positive number, then a function An is called symmetric. Denote the diagonal element An(x, x, . . . , x) by A (x) if An(x1, x2, . . .

Sequential Outlier Detection in Nonstationary Time Series
ABSTRACT A novel method for sequential outlier detection in nonstationary time series is proposed. The method tests the null hypothesis of “no outlier” at each time point, addressing the multiple testing problem by bounding the error probability of successive tests, using extreme‐value theory. The asymptotic properties of the test statistic are studied

A FIXED POINT APPROACH TO THE FUZZY STABILITY OF A QUADRATIC-QUARTIC FUNCTIONAL EQUATION
Using fixed point method, we prove the Hyers-Ulam stability of the following quadratic-quartic functional equation f(x + 2y) + f(x - 2y) = 4f(x + y) + 4f(x - y) - 6f(x) + 2f(2y) - 8f(y) in fuzzy Banach ...

Higher-Spin Gauge Theories and Bulk Locality
We present a no-go result on consistent Noether interactions among higher-spin gauge fields on anti-de Sitter space-times. We show that there is a non-local obstruction at the classical level to consistent interacting field theory descriptions of ...

ABSTRACT The mechanical efficiency of civil engineering structures is a key factor in the sustainable transformation of the building sector. This study presents topology optimization in civil engineering design. The static load profile of civil engineering structures is typically dominated by their self‐weight, which introduces, as a special ...

We study multidimensional gravitational models with scalar curvature nonlinearities of the type 1/R and R^4. It is assumed that the corresponding higher dimensional spacetime manifolds undergo a spontaneous compactification to manifolds with warped ...
