Counting function for a sphere of anisotropic quartz
We calculate the leading Weyl term of the counting function for a mono-crystalline quartz sphere. In contrast to other studies of counting functions, the anisotropy of quartz is a crucial element in our investigation.

HKUST‐1/TiO2 composite materials show a very high photocatalytic hydrogen evolution rate which increases as a function of the irradiation time until reaching a plateau and even surpasses the performance of the 1%Pt/TiO2 material after three photocatalytic cycles.

Cathodoluminescence of shocked quartz at the Cretaceous-Tertiary boundary [PDF]
Empirical studies have documented an association between rock type and the cathodoluminescence color of constituent quartz grains. Quartz from extrusive igneous sources luminesces uniform pale blue.

A pore tuning strategy to amplify the multi‐site MOF‐SO2 interactions is proposed to achieve an enhanced trace SO2 capture and chemiresistive sensing in highly stable isostructural DMOFs by annelating benzene rings. This work provides a facile strategy to achieve tailor‐made stable MOF materials for specific multifunctional applications.

LUMINESCENCE DATING OF AN ANCIENT WALLED SETTLEMENT IN ORKHON VALLEY, MONGOLIA
We investigated the potential of the optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) method to date young (<1000 years) samples collected in the Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape, Mongolia. Quartz showed an infrared signal; therefore the post-IR OSL method was

Method for attaching a fused-quartz mirror to a conductive metal substrate [PDF]
A fused-quartz mirror is attached to a conductive metal substrate by the following steps: tinning one surface of a fused-quartz mirror with a solder of substantially pure indium; tinning a metallic substrate with an indium eutectic alloy consisting ...
