Noise in quartz crystal microbalance

2011 21st International Conference on Noise and Fluctuations, 2011
There are several mechanisms that are related to fluctuation phenomena in QCM. The aim of our research is oriented to study the sensitivity and influence of different kind of noises on sensor resolution. Our experiments are provided on sensor with sorption layer of polypyrrole which is suitable for detection of water vapor.

Quartz crystal microbalance for immunosensing

Fresenius' Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 1994
An immunosensing system is described for the detection of specific antibodies in human sera using a piezoelectric immunosensor and a flow through system. A quartz crystal microbalance theory, regarding mass and viscoelastic effects in multilayer systems, which is derived from the Mason circuit, gives the theoretical background for the interpretation of

Dual Quartz Crystal Microbalance

Analytical Chemistry, 1995
Construction and performance of a dual quartz crystal microbalance is described. The final probe has a dipstick configuration that is particularly suitable for sensing and monitoring applications in viscous and/or conducting liquids. The differential (heterodyned) frequency measurement substantially eliminates the deleterious effects of viscosity ...

Immunodetection by Quartz Crystal Microbalance

Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 2000
Biodetection is one of the most important challenges for the twenty-first century: many fields are concerned, mainly environmental and medical. The quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) may offer great possibilities for this purpose: a direct response signal, which characterizes the binding event between a sensitive layer, immobilized onto the surface ...

Quartz Crystal Microbalance Technique for Analysis of Cooling Crystallization

Analytical Chemistry, 2013
A quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) technique is developed for the in situ analysis of the cooling crystallization processes of crystal nucleation and growth. In contrast to conventional techniques based on property changes in the solid or solution phase, the proposed QCM technique simultaneously exploits property changes in both the solid and solution

Osteoblast attachment monitored with a quartz crystal microbalance

Analytical Chemistry, 1993
A quartz crystal microbalance is used in aqueous solutions to monitor the rate of attachment of osteoblasts, bone-forming cells, to the surface of the crystal. Changes in resonant frequency of the crystal are measured for various surface coverages by osteoblasts.

Quartz Crystal Microbalances for Microscale Thermogravimetric Analysis

Analytical Chemistry, 2010
A new method for analyzing the chemical purity and consistency of microscale samples with a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) sensor platform is described. The QCM is used to monitor submicrogram changes in the mass of a deposited thin film as a function of temperature, in a manner similar to that of a conventional thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA ...

Design of Quartz Crystal Microbalance with ring electrode

IECON 2019 - 45th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2019
At present, the chip structure of Quartz Crystal Microbalance (QCM) is mostly prepared by preparing a circular gold electrode on the top of the quartz crystal and a circular gold electrode on the bottom of the quartz crystal, and the QCM is vibrated by applying an alternating voltage to the upper and lower electrodes. In this paper, a chip structure of
