The Cosmic Ultraviolet Baryon Survey (CUBS). VIII. Group Environment of the Most Luminous Quasars at z ≈ 1

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We investigate the group-scale environment of 15 luminous quasars (luminosity L _3000 > 10 ^46 erg s ^−1 ) from the Cosmic Ultraviolet Baryon Survey (CUBS) at redshift z ≈ 1.

Quasars [PDF]

open access: yesSymposium - International Astronomical Union, 1994
I review recent results for quasars and discuss how they are related to activity in galaxies. Topics included are studies of quasar host galaxies with HST; searches for quasars in the Hubble Deep Field; evolution of the quasar luminosity function; news highlights from astro-ph; and current observational research problems and their relation to ...

Complement Factor H‐Based Therapeutics: A Comprehensive Overview

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 56, Issue 7, July 2026.
Complement factor H is a central regulator of the complement system and thus a target for therapeutic intervention. In this review, we provide an overview of past and current factor H‐based therapeutic concepts and modalities to treat complement‐mediated diseases.

Posidonia oceanica Leaves as a Natural Filler for Poly(Butylene Succinate‐Co‐Adipate) Composites: Characterization and Biodegradation Assessment in Seawater

open access: yesJournal of Vinyl and Additive Technology, Volume 32, Issue 4, Page 988-1005, July 2026.
This study shows that incorporating 5–10 wt.% Posidonia oceanica , with or without micro‐talc, in PBSA preserves thermal stability, modifying crystallization behavior, and maintains good filler dispersion and interfacial adhesion. Mechanical properties are moderately stiffened. ABSTRACT This study investigates the use of Posidonia oceanica (PO) leaves,

AllBRICQS: The Discovery of Luminous Quasars in the Northern Hemisphere

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Supplement Series
We present the second catalog of bright quasars from the All-sky BRIght, Complete Quasar Survey (AllBRICQS), focusing on spectroscopically observed quasars in the Northern Hemisphere with Galactic latitude ∣ b ∣ > 10°.

Interplanetary Tracking of the 23 March 2024 CME: Computer Tomographic Analyses of IPS, White‐Light, and Type II Radio Burst Observations

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract We analyze the propagation of a coronal mass ejection (CME) observed on 23 March 2024, at 01:25 UT by SOHO/LASCO using a multi‐instrument and multi‐method approach. The study combines Interplanetary Scintillation (IPS), type II radio bursts, white‐light, in‐situ observations, and 3D tomographic reconstruction of the inner heliospheric density.

A Deep Chandra X-Ray Survey of a Luminous Quasar Sample at z ∼ 7

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal
We present new Chandra observations of seven luminous quasars at z > 6.5. Combined with archival Chandra observations of all other known quasars, they form nearly complete X-ray observations of all currently known z ∼ 7 quasars with M _1450 < –26.5 ...

Highly Accreting Quasars at High Redshift

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2018
We present preliminary results of a spectroscopic analysis for a sample of type 1 highly accreting quasars (L/LEdd ~ 1.0) at high redshift, z ~2–3.

The Jets in Micro-Quasars and Quasars: A Comparison [PDF]

open access: yesHighlights of Astronomy, 2005
AbstractThe discovery of relativistic jets in radio emitting X-ray binaries in our own galaxy has led to the term ‘microquasar’ being coined for these objects. In this paper the properties of microquasars are compared with those of quasars and radio galaxies, with the aim of trying to see how the similarities and differences can inform us about the ...
