Closed mappings and quasimetrics [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1980
Closed continuous mappings with first countable images preserve quasi-metric spaces as well as nonarchimedean quasi-metric spaces and γ

The topology of partial metric spaces [PDF]

open access: yes
The T0 world of Scott's topological models used in the denotational semantics of programming languages may at first sight appear to have nothing whatever in common with the Hausdorff world of metric space theory.

Precipitation Simulations of the O‐Phase in Ti2AlNb Alloys Processed by Laser Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Simulated and experimental evolution of the O‐phase volume fraction during postprocessing of a Ti‐21Al‐25Nb (at.%) alloy processed by laser powder bed fusion. With results of sensitivity to input parameters from a thorough and quantified analysis, the interfacial energy matrix/precipitate is the most relevant input parameter for the simulation of the O‐

Fuzzy quasi-metric spaces

open access: yes, 2011

Inverse Identification of Energy‐Dependent Laser Absorptivity in NiTi Laser Powder‐Bed Fusion via Calibrated Melt Pool Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A combined experimental–computational framework identifies energy‐dependent laser absorptivity for NiTi in laser powder‐bed fusion, applicable to conduction and transition modes. Single‐track experiments and thermofluid smoothed particle hydrodynamics simulations are coupled through inverse analysis of melt pool geometry.

Nonlinear contractions and fixed point theorems with modified ω-distance mappings in complete quasi metric spaces

open access: yes, 2017
Alegre and Marin [C. Alegre, J. Marin, Topol. Appl., 203 (2016), 32–41] introduced the concept of modified ω-distance mappings on a complete quasi metric space in which they studied some fixed point results.

Microstructure, Thermal Transport, and Dry‐Sliding Tribology of Powder‐Metallurgy Al7075 Composites Reinforced With Sol–Gel‐Derived ZnO–rGO Hybrid Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...

Preservation of completeness under mappings in asymmetric topology

open access: yesApplied General Topology, 2000
The preservation of various completeness properties in the quasi-metric (and quasi-uniform) setting under open, closed and uniformly open mappings is investigated.

Dislocated quasi-metric and generalized contractions

open access: yes, 2018
The paper contains some fixed point theorems for generalized contractions in dislocated quasi-metric spaces. The simplest requirement is condition: p(f(y), f(x)) ≤ g(p(y, x)), for all x, y ∈ X, where p is a dislocated quasi-metric on X (if p(x, y) = p(y,
