A numerical solution of parabolic quasi-variational inequality nonlinear using Newton-multigrid method [PDF]
In this article, we apply three numerical methods to study the L∞-convergence of the Newton-multigrid method for parabolic quasi-variational inequalities with a nonlinear right-hand side.

Identifying and attacking the saddle point problem in high-dimensional non-convex optimization [PDF]
A central challenge to many fields of science and engineering involves minimizing non-convex error functions over continuous, high dimensional spaces.

Abstract Filamentous microorganisms exhibit complex morphologies that influence product formation and are affected by various bioprocess parameters. Consistent morphology is therefore essential for comparable results during scale‐up. This study investigates the scale‐up of Streptomyces species (Streptomyces spp.) cultivations from shake flasks to ...

IMRO: a proximal quasi-Newton method for solving $l_1$-regularized least square problem
We present a proximal quasi-Newton method in which the approximation of the Hessian has the special format of "identity minus rank one" (IMRO) in each iteration. The proposed structure enables us to effectively recover the proximal point.

Work Versus Force: Simultaneous Processes for Describing Interactions
ABSTRACT Achieving a unified description of interactions remains an open challenge in theoretical physics, which currently describes four fundamental forces. This situation may be viewed differently when interactions are formulated in terms of processes (work as actio) rather than forces (force as actio), not only at the macroscopic level but also at ...

A new semismooth Newton method for solving finite-dimensional quasi-variational inequalities
In this paper, we consider the numerical method for solving finite-dimensional quasi-variational inequalities with both equality and inequality constraints. Firstly, we present a semismooth equation reformulation to the KKT system of a finite-dimensional

ABSTRACT The emerging concept of Hubs for Circularity (H4Cs) presents an opportunity to create collaborative, self‐sustaining regional industrial ecosystems that drive circular economy transitions at scale. However, the operationalisation of H4Cs faces financial, organisational and data‐driven challenges.
