Structure‐Guided Dynamical Mechanics in Bioinspired Double Twisted Laminated Thin Films

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work explores a dynamic mechanistic study of crack propagation and puncture testing via real‐time monitoring of crack initiation, propagation, and termination through nature‐inspired single and double twisted architectures fabricated from cellulose nanocrystals.

Retrieving quasi-phase-matching structure with discrete layer-peeling method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
An approach to reconstruct a quasi-phase-matching grating by using a discrete layer-peeling algorithm is presented. Experimentally measured output spectra of Solc-type filters, based on uniform and chirped QPM structures, are used in the discrete layer ...

QPM grating design for novel PPLN structures

open access: yes, 2009
This thesis describes a series of theoretical and experimental studies into modifying the phasematching characteristics of nonlinear parametric interactions, specifically second harmonic generation, using quasi-phase-matched structures.

Two‐Photon Grayscale Lithography (2GL) of High Mechanical and Optical Quality 3D Silica Glass Microstructures

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Two‐photon grayscale lithography (2GL) enables high‐speed and precise 3D printing of thermolyzed silica glass microstructures with optical‐grade surface quality, high quality factors, and mechanical strength utilizing a custom‐made pre‐glass resist based on polyhedral oligomeric silsesquioxane (POSS) modified with a high‐sensitivity Norrish type II ...

Quasi-Phase-Matching Method Based on Coupling Compensation for Surface Second-Harmonic Generation in Optical Fiber Nanowire Coupler

open access: yes, 2018
Efficient second harmonic generation (SHG) employing quasi-phase-matching (QPM) method based on the spatial modulation of mode intensity has been demonstrated experimentally and theoretically in the optical fiber coupler system for the first time.

Negative first-order quasi-phase matching

open access: yes, 2020
ISBN 978-1-943580-84-2International audienceWe propose a new scheme of quasi-phase matching based on the negative first-order of the spatial modulation of the sign of the second-order optical nonlinearity.

Sub-wavelength modulation of χ(2) optical nonlinearity in organic thin films

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
Materials with spatially modulated nonlinear optical properties are used for quasi-phase matching. Here, Yanet al. exploit the nonlinearity of intermolecular charge transfer states together with oblique-angle deposition to achieve nanoscale modulation of

Operando Tracking of Oxygen‐Vacancy Dynamics and Negative Capacitance in Ca‐Doped BiFeO3

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Operando electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, combined with electrocoloration, enables a direct correlation between real‐space ionic redistribution and the corresponding frequency‐domain electrical response. In lateral Ca‐doped BiFeO3 devices, time‐resolved impedance snapshots capture the evolution from bulk‐dominated mixed conduction to an ...

Simultaneous Enhancement of Performance and Stability in Dual‐Gate a‐IGZO Thin‐Film Transistors via Single‐Step Laser Annealing for Capacitor‐Less DRAM

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A single‐step laser annealing strategy is presented for dual‐gate a‐IGZO TFTs. The steep thermal gradient induces graded oxygen doping in the channel and simultaneous WOx removal at the contacts, enabling concurrent interface and contact engineering.
