Model Predictive Control for Power Converters and Drives: Advances and Trends [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Model predictive control (MPC) is a very attractive solution for controlling power electronic converters. The aim of this paper is to present and discuss the latest developments in MPC for power converters and drives, describing the current state of this

Acute Hypoxia Decreases Maximum Fat Oxidation Rate During Step Incremental Exercise Normalized to Respiratory Compensation Point

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Sport Science, Volume 26, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Whether fat oxidation (FATox) is altered during exercise in hypoxia remains equivocal due to differences in experimental protocols. Furthermore, to date no investigation has reported the effect of hypoxia on maximal fat oxidation rate (MFO).

High voltage gain half‐bridge quasi‐switched boost inverter with reduced voltage stress on capacitors

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, 2017
In this study, an improved topology of half‐bridge switched boost inverter with low voltage stress on capacitors is proposed. The proposed half‐bridge quasi‐switched boost inverter, in comparison with the half‐bridge Z‐source inverter with two Z‐networks, has less passive components. Moreover, the proposed topology generates high voltage gain comparing

A New Method for Probabilistic Spatiotemporal Forecasts of Solar Soft X‐Ray “S‐Class” (>X10) Superflares

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Solar superflares of S‐class (>X10 in soft X‐rays) pose extreme space weather hazards, yet their prediction remains a fundamental challenge owing to their rapid and transient natures and the limitations of conventional event‐based forecasts. We introduce for the first time, a probabilistic spatiotemporal framework designed to identify extended

A 50‐year perspective on the use and potential of artiodactyl calcanei in bone adaptation studies

open access: yesBiological Reviews, Volume 101, Issue 1, Page 437-485, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Sheep and deer calcanei are important models for studying cortical (compact) and trabecular (cancellous) bone adaptation because they are amenable to direct strain measurement (due to lack of surrounding muscles), experience relatively simple/unidirectional bending, exhibit osteon remodelling, and have the most pronounced regional variations ...

Unsymmetrical β‐Fused Blatter Radical Zinc Phthalocyanines

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, Volume 32, Issue 4, 23 January 2026.
Herein, we report the first synthesis of a new class of β‐fused Blatter–Zn phthalocyanines featuring a persistent radical π‐system, π–π‐driven crystal packing, and SOMO‐centered redox behavior. Single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction shows packing motifs dominated by centrosymmetric π‐π dimers.

Modeling and Analysis of Power Processing Systems [PDF]

open access: yes
The feasibility of formulating a methodology for the modeling and analysis of aerospace electrical power processing systems is investigated. It is shown that a digital computer may be used in an interactive mode for the design, modeling, analysis, and ...

A comparative study of electric power distribution systems for spacecraft [PDF]

open access: yes
The electric power distribution systems for spacecraft are compared concentrating on two interrelated issues: the choice between dc and high frequency ac, and the converter/inverter topology to be used at the power source.
