Emergent Freestanding Complex Oxide Membranes for Multifunctional Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review surveys freestanding oxide membranes and covers fabrication and three pathways for studies and devices: strain‐free and strained membranes, and van der Waals‐integrated heterostructures. We show how coupled oxide responses map onto these routes and cross‐couple to expand behaviors.

Improved switched-inductor quasi-switched-boost inverter with low input current ripple

open access: yes2015 56th International Scientific Conference on Power and Electrical Engineering of Riga Technical University (RTUCON), 2015
The quasi-switched-boost inverter is an alternative to the quasi-Z-Source inverter. Its passive component number is two times smaller but it contains two additional semiconductor components. Earlier the switched-inductor cell was applied in this topology to enhance dc voltage gain at the cost of high input current ripple.

Constant-frequency multi-resonant converter-fed DC motor drives [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Low-inductance dc motors with high power density and low rotor inertia are becoming more attractive, particularly for servo applications. In order to maintain their current ripples within acceptable levels, power converters need to operate at high ...

Large‐Area 2D Metasurface‐Based Triboelectric E‐Skin Arrays: Contact & Proximity Tactile Mapping with Broadband Acoustic Readouts

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Metasurface‐engineered NC‐TENG arrays integrate tactile pressure mapping, non‐contact gesture sensing, and acoustic signal readouts in one ultrathin module, and outperforms pristine PDMS in terms of electrical output and real‐time spatial mapping for next‐gen wearables.

Power conversion architecture for grid interface at high switching frequency [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper presents a new power conversion architecture for single-phase grid interface. The proposed architecture is suitable for realizing miniaturized ac-dc converters operating at high frequencies (HF, above 3 MHz) and high power factor, without the ...

Accelerating Luminescence in Nanostructures: Exploring the Physical Limits and Impact of Ultrafast Emission in Nanoscale Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Photonics Research, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in accelerating luminescence in nanostructures through cooperative emission, resonator coupling, and nonlocal light–matter interactions. By unifying concepts such as excitonic superradiance, superfluorescence, and the plasmonic Purcell effect, it reveals physical limits of ultrafast emission and their potential ...

Analysis of a Bidirectional DC-DC Converter with High Voltage Gain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A novel bidirectional DC-DC converter with high conversion ratio is proposed in this paper. The proposed converter uses the three windings coupled-inductor to achieved high voltage conversion ratio.

Metal‐Mediated Nitrogen Doping of Carbon Supports Boosts Hydrogen Production from Ammonia

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
A virtuous catalytic cycle is established as the carbon support simultaneously tunes electron density and stores atomic nitrogen formed via Ru–N species during ammonia decomposition, resulting in self‐enhancing catalysis. Abstract Ammonia is an attractive hydrogen carrier, yet its practical use is limited by the need for efficient catalytic ...
