Quasi-static methods to evaluate seat strength in rear impacts
Various methods have been used in the past 50 years to apply Quasi-static load to a seat in the rear direction and measure seat performance in rear impacts. This study compared five of the most-common test procedures to evaluate seats. In addition, occupant mass and center of gravity are discussed as important characteristics of rear loading of seats ...

An Improved Method for Calculating the Quasi-Static EMP [PDF]
A new time-independent numerical method is used to determine the late-time electromagnetic pulse (EMP) resulting from a surface nuclear burst. Completely arbitrary source terms are employed and the non-linear dependence of the air chemistry and air conductivity parameters on the electric field strength is incorporated into the solutions.

Solving quasi‐static equations with the material‐point method
SummaryThe material‐point method models continua by following a set of unconnected material points throughout the deformation of a body. This set of points provides a Lagrangian description of the material and geometry. Information from the material points is projected onto a background grid where equations of motion are solved.

Three-dimensional quasi-static general solution for isotropic thermoelastic medium with applications
An accurate and efficient method for three dimensional quasi-static thermal elastic problems is established. The three-dimensional equations of isotropic quasi-static-thermo-elasticity are simplified by the introduction of two displacement functions.

Dynamic Stiffness Effect of Mechanical Components on Gear Mesh Misalignment
In this work, we propose a method that considers the dynamic elastic stiffness of mechanical components in a quasi-static condition, and we investigate this parameter’s effect on gear mesh misalignment.
