New quaternary ammonium salts derived from cardanol and their use as phase transfer catalyst

open access: yesJournal of the Brazilian Chemical Society, 2000
Cardanol obtained from cashew nut shell liquid, a side product of the Brazilian industry, was the starting material for the synthesis of three new quaternary ammonium salts.

Tailoring a Functional Synthetic Microbial Community Alleviates Fusobacterium nucleatum‐infected Colorectal Cancer via Ecological Control

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The bottom‐up strategy based on multiomics data is used for the SynCom design, and it successfully inhibited F. nucleatum growth and achieved stable colonization in vivo. In addition, it promoted tryptophan metabolism and secondary bile acid conversion, reduced lipid accumulation, relieved microbiome disorder, decreased inflammatory reaction, and ...

SSRP1/SLC3A2 Axis in Arginine Transport: A New Target for Overcoming Immune Evasion and Tumor Progression in Peripheral T‐Cell Lymphoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Enhanced arginine uptake is a critical feature of metabolic reprogramming in PTCL, characterized by elevated expression of the arginine transporter SLC3A2. SLC3A2‐mediated arginine uptake facilitates PTCL proliferation and survival by enhancing OXPHOS metabolism and inducing immune evasion.

Unassisted Switchable Dual‐Photoelectrode Devices Utilizing p‐n Carbon Quantum Dots as “Semiconductor Electrolytes”: Optimization Between H2O2 and Solar Electricity Production

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
p‐n type carbon quantum dots (N‐CQDs) are designed as a conceptually‐new “semiconductor electrolyte” to develop a self‐driven photoelectrochemical cell that can be switched to optimize between H2O2 production and electricity generation under visible‐light illumination with water and O2 as reaction reagents.

Identification of CD38high Monocyte as a Candidate Diagnostic Biomarker and Therapeutic Target for Sepsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study uncovers that CD38high monocytes discriminate sepsis and sterile inflammation and are associated with 28‐day mortality in bacterial sepsis. Targeting CD38 therapy reduces inflammatory response in monocytes and in sepsis mice model. Mechanistically, CD38‐HIF‐1α/glycolysis/MGO loop exacerbates sepsis‐induced immune dysregulation.

Substituted Coumarin Derivatives: Synthesis and Evaluation of Antiproliferative and Src Kinase Inhibitory Activities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Six classes of coumarin derivatives (i.e. 3-alkyl-4-methylcoumarins, pyranocoumarins, coumarin carboxamides, quaternary ammonium coumarins, 7-aminocoumarins, and 4-aminocoumarins) were synthesized and evaluated for inhibition of cell proliferation of ...
