Blood clot inspired pore‐gradient nanofiber sponge with “outer filtration” and “inner adsorption” bifunction for rapid stop of uncontrolled hemorrhage

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
In this study, by mimicking the nanofiber structure and netting blood cells function of fibrin network in blood clots, we developed a novel bioinspired quaternized chitosan nanofiber sponge with distinct blood cell filtration and blood plasma absorption bifunction for rapid hemostasis.

Insights into the Mechanism of a Vanadium Bromoperoxidase from the Marine Macro‐Algae Corallina pilulifera for Biocatalytic Halogenation

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
A study of crystallographic complexes obtained from vanadium haloperoxidase enzymes can determine key amino acids, leucine, and phenylalanine, that change their structural orientation to allow either chloride or bromide to bind to the enzymes active site, thereby determining halide specificity.

Graphitic Carbon Nitride/Nickel Oxide/Pt Heterojunction Photocatalysts for Hydrogen Production from Ammonia Borane Under White‐Light Irradiation

open access: yesChemCatChem, EarlyView.
gCN/NiO Nanocomposites were fabricated and their roles as being both an effective heterojunction and support materials for the in‐situ synthesis of Pt nanoparticles during the hydrolysis of ammonia‐borane were investigated. The optimal gCN/NiO‐3.12%/Pt(IV) heterojunctions (1.31 wt% Pt) provided the highest TOF of 132.9 mol H2mol Pt−1 min−1 in the ...
