Pyramidal Structures on Yttria‐Stabilized Zirconia after High Temperature Exposure at 1500°C: New Features on an Old Material

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
New features on yttria‐stabilized zirconia after exposure at 1500°C: Newly discovered pyramidal structures on an old material. After exposure at 1550°C on the cross section of YSZ new features, namely pyramidal structures are discovered. These structures grow with time, increase in numbers, appear as singularities, are often arranged in strings, and ...

Statistical analysis on quencher in photobiological application

open access: yes, 2008
708-710The Stern-Volmer equation has been analysed statistically through linear regression or best fit method in presence of a quencher. Two important statistical parameters like regression coefficient and correlation coefficient are calculated from the ...

Fluorophore−Quencher Based Activatable Targeted Optical Probes for Detecting in Vivo Cancer Metastases

open access: yes, 2016
In vivo molecularly targeted fluorescence imaging of tumors has been proposed as a strategy for improving cancer detection and management. Activatable fluorophores, which increased their fluorescence by 10-fold after binding tumor cells, result in much ...

A Bioluminescent Protein‐Graphene Oxide Donor‐Quencher Pair in DNA Hybridization Assays

open access: yes, 2022
Despite fluorescent quenching with graphene oxide (GO) having shown great success in various applications - bioluminescent quenching has not yet been demonstrated using GO as a quencher.

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

Structural mechanisms for binding and activation of a contact-quenched fluorophore by RhoBAST

open access: yesNature Communications
The fluorescent light-up aptamer RhoBAST, which binds and activates the fluorophore–quencher conjugate tetramethylrhodamine-dinitroaniline with high affinity, super high brightness, remarkable photostability, and fast exchange kinetics, exhibits ...

The role of singlet oxygen and hydroxyl radical in the photobleaching of meso-substituted cationic pyridyl porphyrins in the presence of folic acid

open access: yesJournal of Innovative Optical Health Sciences
Using a photosensitizer (PS), light, and oxygen, photodynamic therapy creates cytotoxic reactive oxygen species, such as singlet oxygen (1O2), that kill cancer cells.

Microstructure Evolution of a VMnFeCoNi High‐Entropy Alloy After Synthesis, Swaging, and Annealing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The synthesis and processing (rotary swaging and annealing) of the novel VMnFeCoNi alloy is investigated, alongside the estimation of the grain size effect on hardness. Analysis of a wide grain size range of recrystallized microstructures (12–210 µm) reveals a low annealing twin density.
