The Effect of Quenching and Partitioning (Q&P) Heat Treatment on the Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of High Boron Steel. [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials (Basel), 2021
P) heat treatment is a promising process to produce martensitic steel with excellent mechanical properties, especially high toughness by increasing the volume fraction of retained austensite (RA) in the martensitic matrix.

Advanced High-Strength Steels by Quenching and Partitioning [PDF]

open access: yesMetals, 2021
Quenched and partitioned (Q&P) steels are recently developed materials with carefully selected chemical compositions and multiphase microstructures resulting from precisely controlled heating and cooling processes [...]

Quenching and Partitioning of Multiphase Aluminum-Added Steels [PDF]

open access: yesMetals, 2019
The quenching and partitioning response following intercritical annealing was investigated for three lean TRIP-type high-Al steel compositions. Depending on the intercritical austenite fraction following annealing, the steels assumed either a ferrite/martensite/retained austenite microstructure or a multiphase structure with ferritic, bainitic and ...

Formal Equivalence Between Partitioned and Partition-Free Quenches in Quantum Transport [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Low Temperature Physics, 2018
In this paper we review the partitioned and partition-free approaches to the calculation of the time-dependent response of a molecular junction to the switch-on of an arbitrary time-dependent bias. Using the non equilibrium Green's function formalism on different time contours, we derive a formal equivalence between these two approaches. This clarifies

Quenching and Partitioning Steel Heat Treatment [PDF]

open access: yesMetallography, Microstructure, and Analysis, 2013
Abstract Quenching and partitioning (Q&P) steel is a term used to describe a series of C-Si-Mn, C-Si-Mn-Al, or other steels subjected to the quenching and partitioning heat treatment process. This article discusses the Q&P steel's chemical compositions and mechanical properties, and provides an overview of the important ...

Critical Assessment 7: Quenching and partitioning [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Science and Technology, 2015
Quenching and partitioning is a relatively new heat treatment concept to generate microstructures containing retained austenite stabilised by carbon partitioning from martensite. Research on quench and partitioning has been conducted by numerous groups, and this critical assessment provides some of the authors’ perspectives on progress and ...

Effect of partitioning time on one-step quenching and partitioning steel

open access: yesJournal of Physics: Conference Series, 2022
The microstructure and mechanical properties of one-step quenching and partitioning (Q&P) steel with different partitioning time were analyzed. The results shows that the elongation rate rises, tensile strength decreases, the yield strength first declines and then increases with the increasing partitioning time (PT).

Effect of Q&P Process on 0.15C-MnSi Steels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The present study is focused on analyzing the effect of Mn amount on two experimental steel compositions, specially designed for Q&P (Quenching and Partitioning), 0.15C-2.5Mn-1.5Si and 0.15C-3Mn-1.5Si without significant contribution of Al.

Novel method for refinement of retained austenite in micro/nano-structured bainitic steels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
A comparative study was conducted to assess the effects of two different heat treatments on the amount and morphology of the retained austenite in a micro/nano-structured bainitic steel.
