Study on Interaction between Broad Bean Phenolic Compounds and Proteins using Fluorescence Method

open access: yesCzech Journal of Food Sciences, 2009
Protein-polyphenol association may affect polyphenols absorption/bioavailability from gastrointestinal tract and finally modulate their biological activities.

Comparing the Heterogeneity of Copper-Binding Characteristics for Two Different-Sized Soil Humic Acid Fractions Using Fluorescence Quenching Combined with 2D-COS

open access: yesThe Scientific World Journal, 2011
Heterogeneous distributions of copper-binding characteristics were compared for two ultrafiltered size fractions of a soil HA using fluorescence quenching combined with two-dimensional correlation spectroscopy (2D-COS).

Fluorescence spectroscopy of osthole binding to human serum albumin

open access: yesJournal of Pharmaceutical Analysis, 2013
The interaction of human serum albumin (HSA) with osthole was investigated by fluorescence spectroscopy. Osthole can quench the fluorescence of HSA and the quenching mechanism is a static process. The binding site number n and apparent binding constant K

Fluorescence quenching at high quencher concentrations

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 1983
Chemical reactions occurring in dense media at high reactant concentrations can be described by rate ‘‘constants’’ which are actually functions of concentration. We present a theoretical model in which this so-called rate constant ‘‘renormalization’’ occurs for the specific case of fluorescence quenching in solution. We show that both the quenching and

Iron specificity of a biosensor based on fluorescent pyoverdin immobilized in sol-gel glass

open access: yesJournal of Biological Engineering, 2011
Two current technologies used in biosensor development are very promising: 1. The sol-gel process of making microporous glass at room temperature, and 2. Using a fluorescent compound that undergoes fluorescence quenching in response to a specific analyte.

Chlorophyll Fluorescence, Photoinhibition and Abiotic Stress: Does it Make Any Difference the Fact to Be a C3 or C4 Species?

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2019
Chlorophyll fluorescence analysis is one of the most powerful and widely used techniques to study the effect of stresses on the photosynthetic process.

Fluorescence Enhancement and Quenching in Tip-Enhanced Fluorescence Spectroscopy

open access: yesFrontiers in Optics / Laser Science, 2018
We study fluorescence enhancement for a dipole emitter placed between a tip and different dielectric substrates. Resonant behavior is observed as a function of tip-substrate distance for a silver tip placed above a glass substrate and displays a strong dependence on the radius of the curvature of the tip.

Sensing of iron(III)-biomolecules by surfactant-free fluorescent copper nanoclusters

open access: yesSensing and Bio-Sensing Research, 2019
Surfactant-free copper nanoclusters (sf-CuNCs) synthesized in the absence of external stabilizer, could be promising fluorescence biosensors because of the presence of relatively exposed surfaces that may ease coupling with biomolecules.

Temperature measurement in microchannel liquid flow by measuring fluorescence polarization

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2017
A fluid temperature measurement technique based on fluorescence polarization is developed and applied to measure the two-dimensional temperature distributions in microchannel.

Probing Plasmons in Graphene by Resonance Energy Transfer

open access: yes, 2011
We propose a novel method to probe electronic excitations in graphene by monitoring the fluorescence quenching of a semiconductor quantum dot (or a dye molecule) due to the resonance energy transfer to the graphene sheet.
