Chalara angustata sp. nov. from roots of Quercus petraea and Quercus robur
Mycological Research, 1996A new species of the hyphomycete genus Chalara is described. This fungus was isolated several times from roots of healthy and declining oaks (Quercus petraea and Q. robur). It differs from previously described species of Chalara by its septate conidia, the morphology of the phialophores and by colony characteristics.

Insoluble ellagitannins in Castanea sativa and Quercus petraea woods
Phytochemistry, 1991Sapwood and heartwood samples of sweet chestnut (Castanea sativa) and sessile oak (Quercus petraea) were extracted with aqueous acetone. Ellagitannins were estimated in both extracts and extraction residues, by the Folin-Ciocalteu method and by determination of ellagic acid formed after acid degradation.

Hybridization and speciation dynamic of Quercus petraea and Quercus robur
2012Quercus petraea and Q. robur are two interfertile sympatric species. They occupy distinct stages during forest succession and constitute therefore good models for ecological speciation studies. Despite their differences, they often grow together in mixed stands, allowing the study of their intra- and interspecific reproductive system.
