The Adaptability to Light Intensity of Seedlings of Quercus Petraea (Matt.) Liebl.
Journal of Ecology, 1964In a classic study Watt (1919) discussed many of the factors limiting the natural regeneration of oaks in Britain. His conclusions relating to biotic and edaphic factors are, however, likely to be primarily of local interest and his investigations of factors such as light intensity were more superficial.

Osservazioni Preliminari Sull'ecologia di Semenzali di Rovere (Quercus Petraea (Matt.) Liebl.)
Giornale Botanico Italiano (Florence, Italy: 1962), 1995Abstract Preliminary observations on the ecology of sessile oak (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl.) seedlings.—The responses of sessile oak seedlings to four different light intensities and to increasing drought (three soil moisture contents) have been investigated in a nursery experiment in order to improve the knowledge of the ecology of this species in

Ecology and silviculture of sessile oak (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl.) in Romania
Spanish Journal of Rural Development, 2010Sessile oak (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl.) is the most important Quercus species in Romania, covering over 700000 ha. It is located in the hill and low mountain ranges, and forms either pure or mixed stands with other broadleaved tree species such as European beech (Fagus sylvatica L.), common ash (Fraxinus excelsior L.), sycamore (Acer ...

Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl. y otros robles del Sistema Ibérico septentrional [PDF]
In the Northern Iberian System, Quercus petraea has been found in 18 localities (Soria: 7, La Rioja: 5, Burgos: 5, Zaragoza: 1), and hybrids of Q. petraea with 4 other oak species have been indentified in 14 localities. Q. subpyrenaica has been recorded in 6 localities (La Rioja: 5. Soria: 1) and Q. pubescens in 4 (La Rioja: 3, Burgos: 1). Moreover, Q.

The spatial distribution of alleles is described in a forest stand of natural origin of 5 ha comprising 355 mature Quercus petraea and Q. robur trees. Each tree was genotyped for six microsatellite loci. Previous studies on the same population based on isozymes allowed a comparison of different markers for the detection of spatial genetic structure ...

Morphometric analysis of oak acorns (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl.)
2000Morphometric characteristics of oak acorns (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl.) from 17 populations were studied. The results of the cluster analysis pointed to a different view on the problem of artificial regeneration. Cluster analysis using the complete linkage method shows that populations have not formed clusters based on their geographic origin.
