The 6'-O-gallate derivative of (3S, 4S)-4-beta-D-glucopyranosyloxy-3-methyloctanoic acid was isolated for the first time from the wood of Sessile oak (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl.) and shown to be a precursor of cis-beta-methyl-gamma-octalactone.

The aim of the research is to develop new cheap and practical methods for long-term storage of acorns of sessile oak, because today it is possible to store them only for few months (recalcitrant seeds). The research is based on the hypothesis, that the vitality of acorns after long-term storage is in positive correlation with the content of phytic acid

The Effect of Bud Position on Branch Growth and Bud Abscission in Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl.
Annals of Botany, 1991The time at which a bud began to expand was related to its position not only on an individual shoot but also within the crown. The distribution of buds and branches on the shoot was uneven; the shoot tip, where they were densely clustered, was termed the whorl; and the remainder of the shoot, where they were widely spaced, the interwhorl stem.

Sortimentna struktura hrasta kitnjaka (Quercus petraea (Matt.)
