Anti-neuroinflammatory triterpenoids from the seeds of Quercus serrata Thunb
Fitoterapia, 2020The seeds of Quercus serrata Thunb. (acorns) have been served as a healthy food in Asia. In this study, five previously undescribed triterpenoids, along with nineteen known triterpenoids were isolated from acorns. Their structures were identified on account of spectroscopic analysis and GC-MS analysis after acid hydrolysis.

Abstract We investigated how developmental stage affects seed traits, including the relative level of desiccation tolerance of Quercus serrata. We tested the hypothesis that the relative level of desiccation tolerance is a quantitative trait associated with seed development and that a maximum relative level of desiccation tolerance is reached during ...

Callus proliferation from the protoplasts of embryogenic cells of Quercus serrata
Plant Cell, Tissue and Organ Culture, 1992Embryogenic culture was induced from the immature embryos of Quercus serrata using Marashige and Skoog's medium (MS) containing 0.1 μM each of 2,4-d and BAP, and subcultured for seven months before isolation of protoplasts by using 1% Cellulase RS in 0.6 M mannitol solution.

Phenological responses of Quercus serrata under the elevated CO2 and temperature
International Journal of BiometeorologyThis study experimentally investigates the effects of global warming on the phenology of Quercus serrata under elevated temperatures and CO2 conditions. The experiment was conducted for two years under five treatments: ambient temperature and CO2 (control), + 2 ℃ (T2) and + 4 ℃ (T4) with ambient CO2, and + 2 ℃ (CT2) and + 4℃ (CT4) warming combined with
