Survey of Physicians to Assess the Initial Level of Knowledge as a Mechanism for Increasing the Efficiency of Educational Programs in the Field of Rational Antimicrobial Therapy

open access: yesАнтибиотики и Химиотерапия, 2020
One of the reasons of the failure of educational activities in the field of rational antimicrobial therapy is, most likely, the discrepancy between the level of initial training of students and the complexity of the presented material.

From questioning as design to the design of questioning [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
En el camp del disseny, "el reqüestionament de la pregunta" és una tècnica habitual que ens permet passar d'un enfocament basat a respondre directament a la demanda a un de més responsable, fundat en l'anàlisi i en la comprensió prèvia de la problemàtica

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Hijacking emergency granulopoiesis: Neutrophil ontogeny and reprogramming in cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Neutrophils are highly plastic innate immune cells; their functions in cancer extend beyond the tumour microenvironment. This Review summarises current understanding of neutrophil maturation and heterogeneity and highlights tumour‐induced granulopoiesis as a systemic programme that expands immature, immunosuppressive neutrophils via tumour‐derived ...

Development and validation of an image-based questionnaire ARTROVIS to identify risk factors for the articular syndrome and related conditions

open access: yesAlʹmanah Kliničeskoj Mediciny
Background: The importance of timely diagnosis of rheumatic diseases is beyond any doubt. However, in the real practice the time from manifestation of the first symptoms to the assessment by a rheumatologist and treatment administration often exceeds the

Longitudinal circulating tumor DNA profiling in patients with advanced endometrial cancer using an off‐the‐shelf targeted NGS panel

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Intratumour heterogeneity complicates precision management of advanced endometrial cancer. Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) offers a minimally invasive strategy to capture tumor evolution and therapeutic resistance. Here, we compare tumor‐agnostic NGS with tumor‐informed ddPCR, outlining their relative sensitivity, concordance, and clinical implications ...

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Created in BioRender. Wikman, H.
