Understanding Digital Financial Literacy Among Older Adults in Sweden

open access: yesAccounting &Finance, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examined digital financial literacy (DFL) among older adults in Sweden, with the aim of refining its conceptualisation for highly digitised welfare states. Sixteen semi‐structured interviews with individuals aged 65–93 across two municipalities were analysed inductively. While online banking and Swish were nearly universal, adoption

Variable‐Rate Texture Compression: Real‐Time Rendering with JPEG

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Although variable‐rate compressed image formats such as JPEG are widely used to efficiently encode images, they have not found their way into real‐time rendering due to special requirements such as random access to individual texels. In this paper, we investigate the feasibility of variable‐rate texture compression on modern GPUs using the ...

Terrain Synthesis and Authoring based on Iso‐Contours

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Digital terrains are central to realistic landscape depiction, yet authoring tools must balance perceptual realism with intuitive artistic control. We propose a compact vector‐based representation that models terrain as nested iso‐contours, inspired by geomorphology and cartography.

Do Graph Drawing Aesthetics Matter for AI? A Replication of Foundational Studies in Graph Readability

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Graph drawing aesthetics have traditionally been optimized for human readers, leading to well‐established principles such as reducing edge crossings, enhancing symmetry, and minimizing bends. These criteria shape layout algorithms and define what “readability” means in network visualization.

ON MULTICRITERIAL OPTIMIZATION OF QUEUEING NETWORKS WITH MULTIPLE ACCESS AT COMPETITIVE INFORMATION FLOWS

open access: yesВестник Кемеровского государственного университета, 2014
The paper focuses on the problem of multicriterial optimization of queueing networkswith multiple access and competitive users, which is solved with methods of the theory of games. The algorithm of solution for a two-node network is proposed.

Beauty in the Eye of AI: Aligning LLMs and Vision Models with Human Aesthetics in Network Visualization

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract Network visualization has traditionally relied on heuristic metrics, such as stress, under the assumption that optimizing them leads to aesthetic and informative layouts. However, no single metric consistently produces the most effective results.

Clusterix: A Hybrid Visualization Model for Hierarchically Clustered Networks

open access: yesComputer Graphics Forum, EarlyView.
Abstract We introduce Clusterix, a novel hybrid visualization model for representing hierarchically clustered networks, which also supports directed and weighted edges. Clusterix offers an integrated view of both the network and its full cluster hierarchy by compactly visualizing the cluster inclusion tree enriched with links of the network.
