A Semigroup Approach to Queueing Systems
Semigroup Forum, 2007We prove asymptotic stability of the solutions of equations describing a simple queueing system consisting of two machines separated by a finite storage buffer. Following an approach by G. Gupur, we apply the theory of C0-semigroups and spectral theory of positive operators.

A Queueing System with Auxiliary Servers
Management Science, 1984We examine a queueing system with multiple primary servers and a fewer number of auxiliary servers. There are two classes of customers—those who require service from a primary server working alone and those who require service from a primary server who is assisted by an auxiliary server.

Queueing systems with resource sharing
Journal of Systems and Software, 1986Analytical methods for evaluating the performance of computer systems primarily use queueing network systems. However, those systems must verify independence assumptions that are essential to provide product-form queueing networks. We can't, therefore, directly represent some classical behaviors in computer systems, especially since the emergence of ...

Queueing Causal Models: Comparative Analytics in Queueing Systems
Manufacturing & Service Operations ManagementProblem definition: Much of the focus of queueing theory (QT) is on performance evaluation that supports comparative analytics—that is, comparing performance measures under different interventions. However, closed-form queueing models are very sensitive to assumptions.

An Approximation to Queueing Systems with Interruptions
Management Science, 1977Queueing systems with interruptions serve as models for a variety of situations occurring in every day life. Usually, for each type of interruption, a separate queueing analysis is required. In this paper we present a single queueing model which can be used to analyze many such systems.

The inclusion of storage in a queueing system
Zeitschrift für Operations Research, 1986Service operations involving an intermediate store are modelled using an extended definition of the system state which is a conventional definition of state supplemented with an indicator of the live capacity in the store. Additional to the parameters of mean service rate and mean arrival rate, a mean discharge rate of the store is introduced and the ...

A tandem queueing system with priorities
Computing, 1978A system ofN unlimited queues andN time-discrete servers in series, is investigated. The input consists ofN stochastic processes where requests which have been generated according to thei-th process leave the system after they have received serivice by servers 1, 2, ...,i.

Queueing systems with vacation: an overview
International Journal of Mathematics in Operational Research, 2016Vacation models deal with a very important class of real life congestion situations encountered in day-to-day as well as in industrial scenario. A vacation in queueing context is the period when the server is not attending to a particularly targeted queue.
