Introduction: queueing systems special issue on queueing systems with abandonments [PDF]
The investigation of queueing systems with impatient customers has a long history in queueing theory, with the now standard Erlang-A model going back at least to Palm’s classic 1957 paper. Despite this long record of work, focus on systems with abandonments has been rekindled due to recent interest in analyzing complex service systems, most notably ...

Analysis of a Single Server Queue in a Multi-phase Random Environment with Working Vacations and Customers' Impatience [PDF]
In this paper, we analyze an M / M / 1 queueing system under both single and multiple working vacation policies, multiphase random environment, waiting server, balking and reneging. When the system is in operative phase j = 1, 2, . .

Queue-Dispatch Asynchronous Systems [PDF]
To make the development of efficient multi-core applications easier, libraries, such as Grand Central Dispatch, have been proposed. When using such a library, the programmer writes so-called blocks, which are chunks of codes, and dispatches them, using synchronous or asynchronous calls, to several types of waiting queues.

Performance Modeling of Database Systems: a Survey
This paper presents a systematic survey of the existing database system performance evaluation models based on the queueing theory. The continuous evolution of the methodologies developed is classified according to the mathematical modeling language used.

Optimization Method of Dynamic Beam Position for LEO Beam-Hopping Satellite Communication Systems
The beam-hopping (BH) technology applied to low earth orbit (LEO) satellite communication networks is a superior choice, but the long transmission delay partly caused by data packets waiting in the queue of satellite transponders will seriously affect ...

Proportional fairness and its relationship with multi-class queueing networks [PDF]
We consider multi-class single-server queueing networks that have a product form stationary distribution. A new limit result proves a sequence of such networks converges weakly to a stochastic flow level model.

This manuscript starts with a detailed analysis of the current solution for the queueing system M/Er/1/∞. In the existing solution, Erlang’s service is caused by Poisson’s arrival process of groups, but not individual clients.

Hardware acceleration of number theoretic transform for zk‐SNARK
An FPGA‐based hardware accelerator with a multi‐level pipeline is designed to support the large‐bitwidth and large‐scale NTT tasks in zk‐SNARK. It can be flexibly scaled to different scales of FPGAs and has been equipped in the heterogeneous acceleration system with the help of HLS and OpenCL.

On the Characteristics of a Stationary Queueing Servicing System M/G/1/N-1. Part One [PDF]
This paper studies the equilibrium behaviour of the general service discipline M/G/1/N-1 queueing system. Such a service system has one server with general service distribution whose customers arrive in accordance with a Poisson process.

Analytic and Computational Analysis of GI/Ma,b/c Queueing System
Bulk-service queueing systems have been widely applied in many areas in real life. While single-server queueing systems work in some cases, multi-servers can efficiently handle most complex applications.
