THE QUIET EYE- ITS ROLE IN SQUASH
Three areas about the role of vision in hitting a squash ball were investigated- the fixation timings (early or late), the fixation location (ball centre, not the centre of the ball) and the area the ball landed.Intermediate and semi professional squash athletes were asked to wear an eye tracking device and hit a straight drive on either side as close ...

Elevated Connectivity During Language Processing Is Associated With Cognitive Performance in SeLECTS
ABSTRACT Objective Self‐Limited Epilepsy with Centrotemporal Spikes (SeLECTS) is associated with language impairments despite seizures originating in the motor cortex, suggesting aberrant cross‐network interactions. Here we tested whether functional connectivity in SeLECTS during language tasks predicts language performance.

The Role of Calcitonin Gene‐Related Peptide in High‐Altitude Headache: A Prospective Field Study
ABSTRACT Objective High‐altitude headache (HAH) is a common neurological condition associated with rapid ascent to high altitude. The pathophysiological mechanisms underlying HAH remain incompletely understood. Calcitonin gene‐related peptide (CGRP), a neuropeptide implicated in migraine pathophysiology, may play a key role in the pathophysiology of ...

Keeping your eye on the rail: gaze behaviour of horse riders approaching a jump [PDF]
The gaze behaviour of riders during their approach to a jump was investigated using a mobile eye tracking device (ASL Mobile Eye). The timing, frequency and duration of fixations on the jump and the percentage of time when their point of gaze (POG) was ...

Chronic periodontitis elevates circulating CRP, which enters the hippocampus to upregulate BMP4 in oligodendrocyte precursor cells (OPCs), thereby impairing neurogenesis and inducing anxiety/depression‐like behaviors in rats. Counteracting this pathway, CRP deficiency helps confer functional resilience to OPCs.

The quiet eye phenomenon in minimally invasive surgery
In this paper, we report our discovery of a gaze behavior called Quiet Eye (QE) in minimally invasive surgery. The QE behavior has been extensively studied in sports training and has been associated with higher level of expertise in multiple sports. We investigated the QE behavior in two independently collected data sets of surgeons performing tasks in
