We have identified and we discuss a variant of the r-process which occurs in a degenerate helium gas containing about 2% or more of /sup 13/C(..cap alpha..,n)/sup 16/O reaction serving as the energy and neutron production source. Thermal runaway leads to a slowly rising neutron flux which causes a buildup of heavier elements from lighter ones; in the ...

ABSTRACT Introduction We developed MedSupport, a multilevel medication adherence intervention designed to address root barriers to medication adherence. This study sought to explore the feasibility and acceptability of the MedSupport intervention strategies to support a future full‐scale randomized controlled trial.

Xenon Flash Lamp Lift-Off Technology without Laser for Flexible Electronics
This study experimentally investigated process mechanisms and characteristics of newly developed xenon flash lamp lift-off (XF-LO) technology, a novel thin film lift-off method using a light to heat conversion layer (LTHC) and a xenon flash lamp (XFL ...

ABSTRACT Background/Objectives Osteosarcoma is a radioresistant tumor that may benefit from stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) for locoregional control in metastatic/recurrent disease. We report institutional practice patterns, outcomes, toxicity, and failures in osteosarcoma patients treated with SBRT.

Evidence for an Intense Neutrino Flux during $r$-Process Nucleosynthesis? [PDF]
We investigate the possibility that neutrino capture on heavy nuclei competes with beta decay in the environment where the $r$-Process elements are synthesized. We find that such neutrino capture is not excluded by existing abundance determinations.

Lifestyle Behaviors and Cardiotoxic Treatment Risks in Adult Childhood Cancer Survivors
ABSTRACT Background Higher doses of anthracyclines and heart‐relevant radiotherapy increase cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. This study assessed CVD and CVD risk factors among adult childhood cancer survivors (CCSs) across cardiotoxic treatment risk groups and examined associations between lifestyle behaviors and treatment risks.

Characterizing r-Process Sites through Actinide Production
Abstract Of the variations in the elemental abundance patterns of stars enhanced with r-process elements, the variation in the relative actinide-to-lanthanide ratio is among the most significant. We investigate the source of these actinide differences in order to determine whether these variations are due to natural differences in ...
