Polyarginine Peptide R11–Actin Interaction Induces a Domino Effect on Cytoskeleton Remodeling to Suppress Bladder Cancer Metastasis [PDF]

open access: yesResearch
Cytoskeletal remodeling, particularly actin dynamics, is a central driver of tumor metastasis. However, actin-targeting agents have faced major translational barriers due to poor specificity and the absence of defined druggable sites.

Intravesical delivery of mucoadhesive and tumor-selective-penetrating nanozymes for enhancing the PDT of bladder cancer [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Nanobiotechnology
Intravesical photodynamic therapy (PDT) emerges as a promising modality for bladder cancer treatment, yet its efficacy is often curtailed by weak muco-adhesion, poor muco-penetration, low tumor-targeting and intra-tumoral oxygen scarcity.

Exoproteome Analysis of the Seaweed Pathogen Nautella italica R11 Reveals Temperature-Dependent Regulation of RTX-Like Proteins

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2017
Climate fluctuations have been linked to an increased prevalence of disease in seaweeds, including the red alga Delisea pulchra, which is susceptible to a bleaching disease caused by the bacterium Nautella italica R11 under elevated seawater temperatures.

VarR controls colonization and virulence in the marine macroalgal pathogen Nautella italica R11 [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2015
There is increasing evidence to suggest that macroalgae (seaweeds) are susceptible to infectious disease. However, to date, little is known about the mechanisms that facilitate the colonization and virulence of microbial seaweed pathogens. One well-described example of a seaweed disease is the bleaching of the red alga Delisea pulchra, which can be ...

Turbulent flow of freon R11 hydrate slurry

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Science and Engineering, 2010
A set of hydrate slurry flow experiments has been conducted in a laboratory scale low-pressure flow loop. The dependence of turbulent slurry flow on the hydrate volume fraction has been studied. The slurry is shown to behave as a non-Newtonian fluid and the apparent viscosity is determined as a function of the concentration of hydrate particles.

R11 modified tumor cell membrane nanovesicle-camouflaged nanoparticles with enhanced targeting and mucus-penetrating efficiency for intravesical chemotherapy for bladder cancer.

open access: yesJournal of Controlled Release, 2022
Intravesical chemotherapy is generally used in the clinic for treating bladder cancer (BCa), but its efficacy is limited due to the permeation barrier and side effects caused by the off-targeting of normal urothelial cells.

Map and sequence-based chromosome walking towards cloning of the male fertility restoration gene Rf5 linked to R11 in sunflower

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
The nuclear fertility restorer gene Rf5 in HA-R9, originating from the wild sunflower species Helianthus annuus , is able to restore the widely used PET1 cytoplasmic male sterility in sunflowers.

Genomes and virulence factors of novel bacterial pathogens causing bleaching disease in the marine red alga Delisea pulchra. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
Nautella sp. R11, a member of the marine Roseobacter clade, causes a bleaching disease in the temperate-marine red macroalga, Delisea pulchra. To begin to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underpinning the ability of Nautella sp. R11 to colonize, invade
