Metabolic Insight into Glioma Heterogeneity: Mapping Whole Exome Sequencing to In Vivo Imaging with Stereotactic Localization and Deep Learning

open access: yesMetabolites
Intratumoral heterogeneity (ITH) complicates the diagnosis and treatment of glioma, partly due to the diverse metabolic profiles driven by underlying genomic alterations.

Cell surface CD11c as a neutrophil aging marker molecule

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Cell surface CD11chi neutrophils were more aged and had better phagocytic function than CD11c−/lo neutrophils. Transcriptomic analysis of CD11chi neutrophils and CD11c−/lo neutrophils in pediatric population showed that the most difference was seen in infants.

Comparison of the rDNA locus size and R2 number in R2-active and R2-inactive individuals.

open access: yes, 2013
(A) Distribution of rDNA locus size. Left panels, the D. simulans lines shown in Figure 3A were divided into R2-active and R2-inactive pools based on whether full-length R2 transcripts (at least 5 times above background hybridization) had been detected ...

Genetic dissection of human ABCE1 in yeast reveals separable requirements for ribosome recycling and suppression of aberrant reinitiation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Human ABCE1 cannot functionally replace its yeast ortholog. Yeast–human chimera analysis identified NBD1 as a major interspecies barrier. Genetic screening yielded hABCE1 revertants that rescue yeast viability but fail to suppress aberrant translation reinitiation in the 3′ UTR.

Acute Kidney Injury After Mechanical Thrombectomy for Stroke in Patients With Pre‐Existing Renal Impairment

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common but often underrecognized complication in ischemic stroke patients undergoing mechanical thrombectomy, particularly among those with pre‐existing renal impairment. This study evaluated the incidence, risk factors, and clinical impact of AKI in this high‐risk population.

The R2 Puzzle [PDF]

open access: yes
Previous research has argued that the degree of co-movement of stock returns (the R² of a market regression) at country-level can be explained by the interaction of firmspecific and market-wide information.

open access: yes, 2023
Protein lysates of Xrn1 knock out (ko) A549 cells infected with WT PR8 or PR8-PA(∆X), or mock infected, were probed with antibodies against PR8 PA or beta-tubulin as a loading control.
