The effect of radiative gravitational modes on the dynamics of a cylindrical shell of counter rotating particles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this paper we consider some aspects of the relativistic dynamics of a cylindrical shell of counter rotating particles. In some sense these are the simplest systems with a physically acceptable matter content that display in a well defined sense an ...

Fasting and Refeeding Mediated Phospholipid Remodeling Plays an Important Role in Improving Meat Quality of Aged Laying Hens

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study explored fasting‐induced physiological remodeling effects on meat quality in aged laying hens. Fasting for 15 days (F15) significantly reduced abdominal fat, intermuscular fat width, subcutaneous fat thickness, and liver index versus pre‐fasting (F0) (p < 0.05), which recovered post‐refeeding.

Addressing the Attitude Behaviour Perception Gap—Multimethod Sustainable Tourist Behaviour Evaluation

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Quantitative and perceptual studies have been used to define and model sustainable tourist behaviour in past years, but few studies have undertaken qualitative research of actual behaviour to delve deeper into understanding the different classifications of such behaviour. This research employed a three‐phase design, comprising a pretrip survey,

Evaluation of Crop Water Status and Vegetation Dynamics For Alternate Partial Root-Zone Drip Irrigation of Alfalfa: Observation With an UAV Thermal Infrared Imagery

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science, 2022
Characterization of the spatiotemporal patterns of crop water status and vegetation dynamics are a prerequisite to overcome water scarcity and obtain precise agricultural water management.

Record‐Wise Disaggregated Seismic Fragilities for Interconnected Systems

open access: yesEarthquake Engineering &Structural Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Seismic risk assessment studies typically rely on fragility functions/curves to characterize the susceptibility of an asset or a class of assets to damage. These curves are essentially a summarization of responses evaluated on the basis of ground motions with record characteristics and intensities that may or may not be tied to a specific site

What is Standard Dose of Rivaroxaban in Elderly Asian Patients with Atrial Fibrillation: 20ms versus. 15mg?

open access: yesClinical and Applied Thrombosis/Hemostasis, 2021
Although there is no age criterion for rivaroxaban dose reduction, elderly patients with atrial fibrillation (AF) are often prescribed an off-label reduced dose.

The Role of Impulse Oscillometry in Evaluating Disease Severity and Predicting the Airway Reversibility in Patients With Bronchiectasis

open access: yesFrontiers in Medicine, 2022
BackgroundImpulse oscillometry (IOS) can be used to evaluate airway impedance in patients with obstructive airway diseases. Previous studies have demonstrated that IOS parameters differ between patients with bronchiectasis and healthy controls.

Komar energy and Smarr formula for noncommutative Schwarzschild black hole

open access: yes, 2010
We calculate the Komar energy $E$ for a noncommutative Schwarzschild black hole. A deformation from the conventional identity $E=2ST_H$ is found in the next to leading order computation in the noncommutative parameter $\theta$ (i.e.

Can We Live on the Brane in Schwarzschild-anti de Sitter Black Hole? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
The model of d5 higher derivative (HD) gravity admitting Schwarzschild--anti de Sitter Black Hole (S-AdS BH) as exact solution is considered. The surface counterterms are added to the complete action, they are fixed by the condition of finiteness of bulk
