Expression of the lac operon in Escherichia coli infected with RNA phage R23
Canadian Journal of Microbiology, 1970Infection of Escherichia coli by R23 results in a coordinate repression of permease and β-galactosidase genes of the lactose operon but this effect is not mediated at the level of the regulatory or promoter genes. Immediately preceding the inhibitory phase there is a transient phase of increased inducer uptake and enzyme synthesis which may be ...

Derived thermodynamic design data for heat pump systems operating on R23
Heat Recovery Systems and CHP, 1991Abstract Theoretical Rankine coefficients of performance and the compression ratios have been presented for heat pump systems operating on R23. These values are listed in tabular form for temperature lifts of 5–75°C and condensing temperatures of 5–24°C in one degree increments.

The ribosomal-RNA synthesis factor ψr in Escherichia coli infected with RNA bacteriophage R23
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1971Infection of Escherichia coli with the RNA bacteriophage R23 inhibits RNA synthesis by the cell membrane-DNA-RNA polymerase complex of the host cell, and this inhibition cannot be reversed by the addition of ψr to the reaction mixture. Infection of E. coli with R23 does not cause a decrease in the level of the factor ψr present in the cell supernatant.

Effect of infection with R23 on DNA and RNA synthesis in Escherichia coli
Canadian Journal of Microbiology, 1971Infection of Escherichia coli by R23 results in a marked inhibition of rRNA synthesis. Both 16 S and 23 S RNA are inhibited with maximal inhibition occurring at 30 min. Inhibition of 4 S RNA is not as profound. DNA synthesis is also inhibited after R23 infection although infected cells continue to divide for about one generation (45–60 min) after ...

A volumetric equation of state for chlorotrifluoromethane (R13) and trifluoromethane (R23), developed an the basis of the most recent experimental data reported in the literature, is proposed. The auxiliary equations of vapor pressure and constant pressure specific heat capacity, which have been used to calculate the derived thermodynamic properties ...
