Characteristics of drug-related deaths where individuals are found submerged in a bath or hot tub in the United Kingdom, 1997-2023. [PDF]
Abstract Introduction Recent media reports highlight that drug‐related fatalities can occur while individuals are immersed in water in domestic settings. We aimed to determine the case characteristics, circumstances of death and type of implicated drugs among individuals dying due to unintentional drug‐related causes found immersed in a bath or hot tub.

Variable selection for classification and forecasting of the family firm's socioemotional wealth
Abstract Socioemotional wealth (SEW) refers to those family‐centered goals that are likely to have a major influence on the strategic decision‐making process and performance of family firms. Many studies have used indirect indicators related to family involvement in ownership and management to measure SEW; meanwhile, others have developed scales to ...

Aims Certain combinations of medications can be harmful and may lead to serious adverse drug events (ADEs). Identifying potentially problematic medication clusters could help guide prescribing and/or deprescribing decisions in hospital. The aim of this study is to characterize medication prescribing patterns at hospital discharge and determine which ...

Identifying and Managing Nociplastic Pain in Individuals With Rheumatic Diseases: A Narrative Review
Chronic pain is a burdensome and prevalent symptom in individuals with rheumatic disease. The International Association for the Study of Pain classifies pain into 3 descriptive categories: nociceptive, neuropathic, and nociplastic. These categories are intended to provide information about the mechanisms underlying the pain, which can then serve as ...

Rotation periods of late-type stars in the young open cluster IC 2602 [PDF]
We present the results of a monitoring campaign aimed at deriving rotation periods for a representative sample of stars in the young (30 Myr) open cluster IC 2602. Rotation periods were derived for 29 of 33 stars monitored. The periods derived range from

The Cosmic Ray Signature of Dark Matter Caustics [PDF]
Gravitational collapse of dark matter, merger of dark matter haloes and tidal disruption of satellites are among processes which lead to the formation of fine and dense dark matter shells, also known as dark matter caustics.

Exploration of Aromatic Hydrazides as Inhibitors of Human Carbonic Anhydrases
Hydrazide‐based derivatives were evaluated as inhibitors of human carbonic anhydrase (hCA) isoforms I, II, IV, IX, and XII. Several derivatives, particularly those with ureido‐linkers, exhibited strong inhibitory activity with inhibition constants in the low micromolar range.
